Bulgarian rivers form a dense network. In general, short rivers of the country and have a mountain character. That is why they are much become shallow in the summer.
The Danube River

The river Tundzha
River flows through the eastern part of Bulgaria andpartly on the territory of Turkey. The source of the river is located on the southern slopes of the Balkan (Town of Kalofer). In its upper reaches the river passes through the territory of Kazanlak valley. Then turns south, falling into the valley of the Maritsa River. And eventually flows into it near the town of Edirne, becoming a left tributary.

Maritza is one of the biggest riversBalkan Peninsula. the channel length - 490 kilometers. The source of the river is located near the town of Dolna Banya (the eastern part of the Rila mountains). Then Maritza Plovdiv down to the territory of the valley, gradually moving towards Edirne (Greco-Turkish territory). River flows into the Aegean Sea, in front of this form swampy delta.
The main tributaries of the Maritsa: Sazliyka; Giopsu; Tundzha; Ergene; Krichim; Chepelare; Vacha; Arda.
Because the river is fed mainly by rain,in summer, the Maritsa very much shallower. Its lower reaches often bottled, which is associated with the last snowfalls or rains in the upper reaches.
