Mobile 3G Internet True Move: connection, SIM cards, packages

I already wrote an article about Dtac mobile internet. There all the general information on the Internet inThailand and details about Dtac. In principle, I am satisfied with the Internet from Dtac, but due to the fact that for some reason it is badly caught on the upper floors (we first lived on 29th, and then on the 9th), then I had to try othersoperators. Actually, that's why I am writing a brief note about the Internet from True Move, maybe someone will come in handy. Although the coverage they have is worse in the country, and they are good only in Bangkok, sort of like. Although when I traveled through the mountains of northern Thailand, in some places True Move had 3G, and Dtac only had EDGE (slow speed) or nothing at all. Once tried AIS.

The content of the article

Sim card True Move

Traditionally, the site of Tru Mov is such that the devil is thereleg break. I don’t understand the logic of Thais at all, I don’t search for them on their websites, always somehow through one place. So, SIM cards are different, and depending on them, one or another Internet package will be available to you. Naturally, foreigners without work visas (I mean, tourists) are not available all Sims.

Passport when buying a SIM card is required!

3G Tourist Inter Sim

Most often, everyone has 3G Tourist Inter Sim, which are of three types: free (issued at the airport), for 49 baht, for 299 baht. The latter are bought, for example, in store 7-11 or in the Family mart.

  • Free sims, judging by the reviews, it is better not to take, Internet packages are somehow problematic. People write that connects, but there is no Internet. And you have to call or go to the office of the operator.
  • Tourist Sim for 49 baht includes 90 megabytes of free Internet. Next you need to connect the package, for example unlimited for 450 baht (Net 450).
  • Tourist Sim for 299 baht includesunlimited internet for 7 days. Next you need to connect the package. The tariff is convenient for checking the speed of the Internet and quality, as well as if you have just arrived for a week on vacation.

Also, at the very beginning, these cards require activation, you need to call the number 9302, listen to the balance, and hang up.

Other sim cards

There are other sims. Their set changes, and not all of them are sold freely. In particular, I now bought Manchester United Sim for the same 49 baht, for it, Internet packages are available a bit cheaper, the difference is about 50 baht, and the list of tariffs is vast. Manchester United Sim does not require activation, it is inserted and it works immediately.

About 3G Packages

First of all, you should know that any unlimited3G in Thailand - only conditionally unlimited. That is, you are given a certain number of gigabytes (1-3-5-6) at the maximum speed (which is possible in this place), and then the speed is cut to 128 kbit / s or to 384 kbit / s. Both True Move and Dtac are all the same in this regard. Therefore, you should always look at the limitations.

Also, all tariffs do not include Vat, which means the price should be increased by 7%.

Internet package is connected via USSD code or by calling * 9000 and selecting there via voice menu.

Unfortunately the site does not say anything aboutrestrictions, so I will explain. Net 450 (* 900 * 3345 #) tariff is 1 GB of traffic at the maximum speed within 30 days, and after the traffic is exhausted, it is cut to 128 kbps.

There is also information that these cards are available.and other tariffs, but I don’t know how it is and what restrictions they have. The fact that the picture above is in any way, it is taken from the official site at the moment, the rest is from the network. I do not exclude that somewhere on the site there are also about these tariffs, but I did not immediately find it.

Other sim cards

There are different lines of tariffs iTalk, iNet, iSmart for such SIM cards. We are interested in the iNet line, it is precisely it that is designed for Internet users.

As you can see, for tariffs 299 and 399 speedcut to 128 kbps, for 599 and 899 to 384 kbps after traffic has been exhausted. And also all rates include free True Move Wifi (in Bangkok is quite common).

For myself, I chose the tariff for 599 baht (with Vat it turns out 650 baht). The threshold has not yet been reached, and video skype works well, but I wonder how the restriction will work whether it will be very noticeable.

How to connect the Internet with True Move

I don’t know if everybody has it or not, but for sure with manyTrue Move Internet does not want to work right away. Whether the settings are not sewn into the SIM card, or some other problem, but they need to be set manually in most cases - either by creating a new access point, or by correcting the old one. I tell you how.

For android: Settings -> Mobile networks -> Access point -> Add new.
For iPhone: Basic -> Network -> Cellular Data Network -> Cellular Data (APN, Username, Password). And then enter all that is written below.

Name (Name): True Internet
Access Point (APN): internet
Username: true
Password (password): true
Type of access point (Type): default, supl, net, or default, supl

Next you need to poke on the created access point, making it active. After that, you may have to restart the phone, but it immediately worked for me, as soon as you turned on the mobile data.

How to replenish the balance of True Move

The easiest option is at store 711. There you can buy a money card or pay directly at the checkout via a slip (slip). In the latter case, you need to know your phone number and dial it at a terminal near the cash desk.

But if you have a webmoney, you can paydirectly by them, or on the official website, or through the exchanger. Moreover, I would recommend the exchanger, there are much better courses and you can pay with WMR, and on the site only with WMZ. Although in the case of payment via WMZ there is no difference.
