All beaches of Koh Lana - description from personal experience, reviews, photos

We already have beach reviews. Phuket. Hua Hin. Koh Chang. Samui and Pattaya; detailed, with full descriptions and photos. Today it was the turn to tell you about the beaches of the small island of Koh Lan, which is located near Pattaya.

Among the tourists and residents of Pattaya Koh Lan, perhaps,The most popular place for a beach holiday. The water here is much cleaner than on the urban beaches of Pattaya, the sand is white, the sea is azure, the noise and fuss around is much less. To sail to the island on the ferry only half an hour from the center of Pattaya (and on the speedboat and even less). And although the proximity to the city is a minus of the island - there are a lot of people, especially during the season, yet here you can find almost deserted corners all year round, since the coastline is quite long, with rocks, large stones in the water and forest thickets around the edges of the beaches.

In general about the beaches of Koh Lan

The most famous beaches on Koh Lan are seven (there arestill wild beaches accessible only from the water, but there is no infrastructure for them). The most infrastructurally developed is Tawayen. Ferries from Pattaya come to it, right there is a Songteo parking, where you can go to any other beach on the island. Minus in a huge number of people (and indeed everything: boats, merchants, shops), especially noisy Chinese tourists. The next most popular beach is Sama, it is also quite long, with a good entry into the sea, developed infrastructure. Tien Beach next to Sama looks very attractive, soft white sand like flour, convenient entry into the sea, well suited for children. Cafes and infrastructure are also available, although less. But the people are not so much. The beaches of Nual (Monkey Beach) and Taiyai are well suited for relaxing and relaxed contemplation. The small beach of Sang Van next to the Tawayen pier is suitable if you don’t want to go anywhere.

With housing on Koh Lana everything is fine, but onthe beaches themselves are very few, if any, all that can be removed is in the village around the Na Na Baan pier. If you come to Koh Lan and are looking for accommodation, you can look at RoomGuru, this is a great mega-service, you can immediately see in which booking system (Booking, Agoda, Hotels, etc.) the hotel you need is cheaper.

Tawaen Beach

On the edge of the beach is one of two piers, whereFerries arrive from Pattaya. The place itself is very beautiful: a wide strip of dazzling white sand and azure water, as in tourist booklets. But there is a very big minus - the beach is just full of people. Almost all year round. Lounge chairs in several rows, many high-speed boats, driving, waiting or taking their tourists. Cafes, souvenir shops and beach accessories, almost a whole bazaar along the sea. Many noisy Chinese tourists, crowds of people from the ferry, tuk-tuk drivers shouting the names of the beaches. The beach is very wide, but still there are so many people that a sensation of crowding is created both in the water and on land.

Thong Lang Beach

This beach can be reached on foot from Tawayen byconcrete path along the sea. It is necessary to go to the end of Tawayen beach, far from the pier, and wrap around the cape. Tonglang is quieter and calmer than on Tawayen. In season, unpretentious bamboo beach cafes and the rental of sun loungers with umbrellas work, and the off-season life almost stops. The sand is white, not very shallow, the water is clear, the entry into the water is not as smooth as on neighboring Tavaene and right along the shore there is a strip of sharp stones in the water. In the widest part of the beach, closer to Tawayen, there are no stones in the water. In appropriate weather there are waves. The view from the beach opens to speeding boats with tourists and ferries constantly scuttling back and forth. Also a lot of boats hanging out at the beach, waiting for customers. In length, the beach is small, in the far end of the beach from the entrance there are a couple of trees giving shade during the day.

Ta-Yai Beach

Cute, quiet and relatively uncrowdedbeach. Small, limited at the edges by cliffs, in the same place, closer to the edges, there are trees that give shade. Sunset in the water smooth. There are big stones in the water, you can snorkel (coral and fish) or even go fishing a little. This, of course, is not the Red Sea, but for fun it will completely go away. On the right, if you look at the sea - big boulders. There may be waves. Sun beds, sun beds, umbrellas for rent, shop. To the beach you have to go down the hill. You can get to the tuk-tuk from any of the piers. From the village of Baan, you can come on foot in 20 minutes, however, you will have to climb the hill.

Nual, Naul or Monkey Beach (Nuan, Nual, Naul, Monkey Beach)

Long and not very noisy beach. Several spreading trees right on the beach not only provide shade, but also create a pleasant atmosphere. Relaxation is also promoted by comfortable sun beds with mattresses that are not on other beaches of the island. Stones come across in the water, during high water a strip of sand in front of the rows of sun beds with umbrellas becomes very narrow. There is a nice European-style cafe with shower and toilet. This beach is also called Monkey Beach, Monkey Beach - on the hill next to the red rock, to the left, if you look at the sea, there are monkeys, which are fed by tourists as an attraction. In general, when it is not very crowded (out of season, for example) the place is nice, it has a relaxed beach holiday.

Samae Beach

One of the main advantages of the beach is soft white sand.and convenient entry into the water. Swimming is convenient, however, already at the coast depth to the adult. There are small pebbles in the sand on the beach, but not sharp. Along the edges of the beach is bounded by two hilly capes with stones. Many rows of sun beds with umbrellas, large parking. Behind rows of loungers grow palm trees, many cafes, there is a shower and a toilet. You can get to the beach on a tuk-tuk from one of the piers or on a high-speed boat. There is a viewing platform on the right, if you look at the sea, next to the solar power station, from above, the outlines look like a ramp. Quite crowded, especially in season. However, like almost everywhere in Ko Lana.

Near the parking lot is a garbage dump, wires and pipes stretch to the beach under the paths along the stones, garbage sometimes gets in the water on the beach itself. But the views from the path are still good. Azure water, white sand. The people in the season, however, a bit too much. There are trees on the beach. In general, entry into the water is very convenient, the sand is soft, entry into the water is quite sharp. There are places with stones at the edges of the beach. There are also several large cafes and many small beach cafes. Sun beds with umbrellas in several rows, standard beach activities. In general, the beach is nice and very comfortable for swimming.

Sang Wan Beach

This small beach is adjacent to Tawayen Beach, they are separated by a small stone cape and pier, where ferries from Pattaya arrive. To get to the beach, you have to go straight from the pier to the concrete path along the cliff above the sea. Sang Van is quieter than Tawayen, water is also cleaner. Often there are strong waves. There are stones in the water at the edges of the beach. Sun beds with umbrellas in several rows. Places on the beach is not very much. More expensive than nearby Tawayen. A good option if you come on the ferry and do not want to go anywhere.
