Returned to Russia on the positive and continue to look for pros!

Traditionally, like all wintering men, we want to tell what it is like to return from distant lands to the atmosphere familiar to us since childhood. In principle, all the negative points have already been said by us earlier (impressions after the first trip. impressions after the second), and we do not refuse anything: gloomy faces, high prices, lack of tasty fruits, inability to rent a home for a short time, cold, and all sorts of other difficulties Actually, all this is not new, and there is even no point in discussing it, since the one who wintered, felt all this the hard way and knows what I am talking about. It is clear that not everyone has such an opinion, but this is normal, we can all perceive the same things in completely different ways.

So, this time I do not want to repeat, andgenerally decided to go the other way. Since we have to spend the next year in Moscow, it makes sense to focus on the advantages, which are also available here. It seems that we usually do it anyway, but such a “returning” article has not yet existed. So, focus on the fact that there is a good thing in Russia, and that it can please the winterer after a long absence.

First impressions

The flight went great! Everything is relative!

The flight went great! Everything is relative!

It's funny, but I thought many things were entrenched inmemory forever, and the first days are such that it’s as if I wasn’t here for 10 years, some kind of complete prostration and not fitness, I even forgot the name of our Internet provider, and went on the first day with a foreign passport, can you imagine :) We haven't been there for only 7 months, but nowneed to make an effort to remember how here and what is done. Honestly, the first time this, or too immersed in Thai life, or memory cells are not enough in my head.

It was unusual to drive a car with the left rudder, all the time I strive to go to the oncoming lane, and my left hand jerks every time trying to shift the gear (the lever is now on the other side). And now we must remember that it is necessary to close the car, and then completely relaxed in the tropics. For some reason, very cold water flows from the tap and is very hot, and not just warm, like! I almost scorched a couple of times ... I had to walk around the apartment in slippers, not barefoot, even in a sweater, but cool. The world was filled with a large number of various items (instead of a backpack, a pile of boxes with things) and cases (payment of receipts, relocation, polyclinics, home improvement, change of bank cards, etc.).

And, finally, I will be able to wash my favorite tar soap, I like its smell as well as durian smell :)

What was difficult in Tae this time

First, a little about what did not like in the wintering this time, about what we felt on ourselves as a result of a deeper dive. A general and collective article about the cons read here.

I wanted more from classes with Egor in Bangkok. And the difficulty was that we simply had nothing to compare with, because before that in Russia we didn’t really have classes, no one took up Egor. Now he has grown up and you need to urgently work out in Moscow so that there is a starting point, otherwise maybe we just want too much. And in China it is necessary to drive (in the fall, probably) to check there too.

It was not clear how to solve complex issues because of the language barrier and the characteristics of Thai culture. For example, I had a problem with Macbook, in authorized centers refused to solvequestion, small workshops also sent. How to fix it in Moscow, I know, I will find it straight through the Internet and agree. Or another example, when they do a crooked examination in a hospital, how to understand where to do a normal one? Not to go through all the hospitals in a row ... There were other moments. Surely, all issues have solutions, but this takes time, and we have it tight.

We needed a car anyway, and buying it atseveral months is expensive. Renting is not cheap either, and you’re worried about each scratch. Similar things can be said about the constant improvement of life - annoying. Stupidly it turned out, in 7 months 5 dwellings were changed. In general, the farther away, the greater the need for a permanent base, from which only short raids are made, because it is too expensive each time to build housing and life.

We also got a little tired from the heat, especially underthe end of spring. Because of the need to use the air conditioner at night (otherwise Egor does not sleep), it was not possible to adapt as a result. 27-28 degrees is quite good and pleasant for yourself, but above it is not ice at all. And in April-May it reached 33, a lot!

What pleased in Russia on return

What a cool internet here! Immediately connected the speed of 80/50 Mbit to merge 600 gigabytes into the cloud (backup photos). I waited specifically from Thailand to do this. Wow, flies like everything, in a few days uploaded! I don’t know what else to download / upload.

A full-fledged supermarket 5 minutes from the housewalk! And a few more in 10 minutes ... Now, it’s not necessary to drive a car for groceries, and in general someone else besides me can do this (I drive alone in the family). True, I decided to basically travel to stock up in Auchan, there are more or less the prices for Thai alike. Yes, and labels, labels are readable, the composition is in Russian and is 100% clear. :)

Prices for Thai coconuts are space, but full of everything else (except vegetables and fruits)

In your own housing (base) you can makea bunch of holes in the wall for a hammock and a new shelf, buy the right equipment, buy various household items not “to throw out”, but normal ones. So in the near future I will hang up a hammock and buy a new washing machine (the old Khan), and maybe even zabatsayu extra room on the balcony, if the fuse remains.

Guys, how cool is it that the day is so longit gets dark very very late in summer. So much can be redone, and do not run headlong to walk with Egor after a nap. Usually he wakes up just at 17 o'clock, and in Thailand at 6.30-19.00 it is already dark, did not have time.

Still, despite its introversion, it will be so great to see the relatives of friends and talk more deeply, as people have long known.

What's next

Surely, everyone is interested, but what next? I answer: while we are in Moscow, we are doing our own business, we are conducting various surveys and possibly an operation for Egor, as the forces have gained some strength and you can go into battle again. There are no further plans, and, to be honest, I don’t want to guess anything. As everyone has already noticed, the articles are now being published much less frequently and will continue to be published in approximately the same way, because we already have 5 appointments with specialists, a course of massage, a course of physical therapy, hospitalization is coming for a full examination. In addition, we moved back to Butovo and dismantled boxes of things.

Perhaps we are hospitalized here if you're lucky.

And we will write about our adventures in Moscow ormedical tourism in the nearest countries. Also, a little material remains in Thailand, it would be necessary to finish. In general, there is a desire to get away from geography, in the form in which it originally began. It’s good to describe something other than Thailand, it will not work anyway, it’s just not for a few years. Yes, and ideally, you need to write about what does not bind you to a particular country, then you do not need to be in it for this.

P.S. I want to be understood correctly, I do not try to compare the two countries on the subject where it is better to live. Always and everywhere there will be pros and cons, there is no perfect place. Moreover, there is no objective view at all, but just some personal feelings that change depending on current views, circumstances, and ultimately moods. If you need a more "dry infa", then it is here. The pros and cons of Thailand.

Life hacking 1 - how to buy a good insurance

Choosing insurance is now unrealistically difficult, so to help all travelers, I compile a rating. To do this, I constantly monitor forums, study insurance contracts and use insurance by myself.

Life hacking 2 - how to find a hotel 20% cheaper

First, choose a hotel on Booking. They have a good offer base, but the prices are NOT the best! The same hotel can often be found 20% cheaper in other systems through the RoomGuru service.
