Phuket Viewpoint is one of the best.

In the northwest of Phuket Town, near Monkey mountainsThere is a hill called Khao Rang. The original name of the hill is Khao Lang, which means “mountain behind” in Thai. The Grade Hill is a hundred meters lower than Monkey Hill, but no less popular with tourists for its stunning views and monkeys living on the slopes of the hill. I highly recommend it - a good place, you should come here even if not on purpose, but by the way - be sure to stop by. The view is unfortunately not panoramic, but about 180 degrees, but the atmosphere is more pleasant towers on Khao Khad mountainwhere a view of all 360.

Observation Deck Grade Hill

As I was told, the toponym "Lang" (whichtransformed into “Rank” because Thais pronounce this sound differently) went to the hill from the time when the town of Phuket ended at the foot of Rank Hill, and the hill itself was not a mega-popular viewpoint, as now, but the boundary of civilization. However, the mass tourist knows little about Khao Lange, for travel agencies everywhere promote this attraction as a viewing platform in Phuket. However, here is one of those cases when tour agencies can be believed - the lookout over Phuket Town turned out to be really great.

The outskirts of Phuket Town have moved behindBack Mountain, turning Khao Rang into a hill in the middle of the city, overgrown with forests. By the way, the jungle has grown so violently that they block half of the view on the lookout, significantly narrowing the panorama with a view. There is a lot of shade and cool breeze, so even arriving at the mountain in the midst of tropical heat, you will find this place pleasant and cool.

The territory of the Rank Hill in Phuket is refined, withfar from the most spacious parking on the top of the hill, there are benches for visitors, a sports ground with exercise equipment to work with its weight, a swing on the old banyan tree and a monument to the former governor of the island.

There are two modern cafeterias, Breeze and Tun.Ka. Moreover, when I was driving here, I did not know that there was a cafe here. I thought that I would pick up quickly, take off on the go, note the nuances on the map and go further, but then decided to go down to the Tun-Ka cafe. It is located just below the lookout, literally 10-20 meters, so there is also a panoramic view there, but it’s partly limited to trees.

So, Tun Ka I liked its interior so much that I decided to linger on the fruit shake, at the same time testing the local cuisine. I was so pleased that I had this cafeteria there is a separate post and I boldly recommend it - you can combine a visit to the viewing room and lunch or dinner.

In addition to food and species, on Rang Hill can be foundwild monkeys. Feeding the monkeys is possible, but I will not stop reminding that the occupation is dangerous, and the behavior of monkeys is unpredictable. You can buy food for monkeys at the foot of Rang Hill, for 10 baht a bag of peanuts or for 20 baht a bunch of bananas.

Also here proudly announced the presence of "fitness park"but do not pay attention to the big name. It is, in fact, just a winding path that allows you to climb to the top or go down from it by 50 meters, that is, not even half the way.

Information to visit

The entrance is free.

Small parking, but the bike is always enoughfree seats, but by car when how. It is worth bearing in mind if you are driving a car. But if anything, you can get up a little lower on the road on the slope. Two roads lead to the lookout, on which one to drive - without a difference, they are almost the same.

Open 24/7 for visits, there are no signs anywhere.schedule for work and there are no barriers and gates, that is, the territory was not originally planned to limit to visit. At night there is no less interesting, thanks to a large town at the foot. If on any other viewpoint you see nothing but green lanterns of fishing boats on the horizon, then on the viewing platform of Rang Hill you will have a view of the golden valley and the starry sky.

This observation deck is often visited as part of a tour of the island. You can see several top places in one day.

On the way to this lookout or afterwards, you can go to Temple of Kao Rang, it is located on the slope of the same mountain and one of the roads passes right past it. The temple is not very tourist, with a large figure of a seated Buddha.
