Pushchino on Oka - manor and ecological path, weekend itinerary

I want to tell today about the estate Pushchino on the Oka, not to be confused with Pushchino on Narawhere we too hope we will stop the other day. I must say, we really liked the town and its surroundings, it’s green and well here. I can recommend this trip as a weekend or even two itinerary - with an overnight stay in a tent by the river. With young children it will be a little harder to wander around than in asphalt parks, due to the inability to use the stroller, but nonetheless still real.

Tell me who has children, you are always very longgoing on a trip for a day or a weekend? Either we are doing something wrong, or it should be so, but even to go to some estate, it takes us several hours to pack, as if not a walk, but the whole expedition is planned :)

Manor Pushchino on Oka

Half a day we prowledtake a walk to the estate Pushchino on the Oka. Despite the fact that it is located within the city and is an architectural monument, complete neglect reigns here. If no one takes care of her in the near future, then nothing will be left of her soon. And the place is beautiful - on the high bank of the Oka there is a three-story house and from it down to the river leads, or rather led, an elegant staircase, and not far from the house there is a lime avenue and a marshy pond. When visiting such places, I always wonder how people used to live, not to compare with our concrete barns.

To get inside the estate is problematic -most of the windows are boarded up with boards or bricked up, and the entrances are closed with iron sheets. If you try, then, of course, you can climb into the open windows of the upper floors, but we didn’t do that, because, most likely, there’s nothing to look inside after finding a hospital in Soviet times in the manor building. Yes, and not quite right to climb where it is specially closed.

Manor Pushchino on the Oka was built in the 18th century, although the first mention of these lands dates back to the 16th century. The manor changed owners many times: boyar Pushchin - retired major Artsibashev - nobles Ofrosimovs - merchant Weber - tea merchant Perlov - owner of Chestnut factories. It was also rebuilt several times and, before the revolution, it was a whole complex - a church, households, a cascade of ponds and a park. Now there are only the main house in the classical style, almost destroyed the stables and the cellar-glacier. At the time when the manor was owned by the Ofrosimovs, there was often the composer Alyabyev, who composed his works in the manor and later married the widow of Ofrosimova.

Ecological trail in Pushchino

In fact, not only the Pushchino manor is interesting.on the Oka, but also the so-called ecological trail, of which this manor is a part. It will be a good weekend route. The length of the trail is about 4 km and information boards are installed all the way, therefore, despite the dense forest and overgrown paths, it will be difficult to get lost. What is there good?

First of all, a pleasant walk along the forestrivers. Only mosquitoes and heat can cause inconvenience. To neutralize the effect of the latter, you can plunge into the cool Oku (on the way there will be two good sandy beaches) or in the equipped simple font with flowing spring water.

Near the font there is a karst funnel, which is a small rift in the ground. This place reminded us of something. Revival in the Caucasus. A little further away you can see a smallwaterfall and spring. We slowly walked these 4 km in as many as 5 hours with many stops. I want to warn right away that it will be difficult to walk there with a stroller, forest paths, not park ones, in some places very narrow and through the thickets of nettles, besides, part of the way goes along a steep slope. So a sling or similar devices can help a lot in this situation. Tourist foam will also not be superfluous, for there are no benches for relaxing in the forest.

How to get to Pushchino

Naturally, the easiest way to do this is by car. You need to go along the Simferopol highway and right after the bridge across the Oka there will be a turn to Pushchino. Upon reaching the city, you immediately get to the central avenue of Science and approximately in the middle of it you need to turn left, and you will stop on the street running along the Oka. Here you need to decide which side you will go along the path (especially no difference). If on this street you turn to the right, that after 100 meters there will be an observation deck with parking for cars and a sharp descent down. If you turn left, you will need to drive 800 m along the primer (the asphalt will be replaced by the primer) through the summer houses and you will see the information board of the ecological trail and the path down.

Public transport can be reached fromSerpukhov by bus 26, get off at the Hospital. There are commuter trains from Moscow and intercity buses to Serpukhov. Also, immediately from the metro station South, you can get to Pushchino by bus 359, it will most likely be faster. In the latter case, from the bus station in Pushchino walk 10 minutes to the observation deck.

In any case, the town is small, getting lost is quite difficult, besides the locals will always tell you where to go.
