The second most popular temple after Temple of the Emerald Buddha is wat pho (wat pho), or how elsecalled - the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Indeed, a person who has not really been in Thai temples can be very impressed by the huge figure of the Buddha, therefore, if there have been few places, then it is worth going there. However, even advanced travelers can visit, the territory is beautiful, you can walk, only people are a bit much after all.

Temple of the Reclining Buddha
Wat Pho - one of the oldest temples in Bangkok, built back in the 12th century. And it was here at the end of the 18th century that a new dynasty of Rama began, when General Chakri proclaimed himself king. Since then, the temple became famous, its territory was greatly expanded, and kings throughout the stupas paunt in honor of each other.
The most interesting thing in Wat Pho is the figure of the recliningThe buddhas, in fact, are mostly watched by crowds of tourists from all over the world. Its length is 46 meters, and its height is 15 meters. Outside, the Buddha is covered with gold leaf, that is, it is not entirely like this (there is a brick inside). The spectacle is quite impressive, because the Buddha here is the largest in Thailand, and even in the whole world. True, because the Buddha is in his house, and the house is inside with thick columns, it is quite difficult to look at the Buddha completely. This can be done only with his heels, standing close to them. By the way, during the construction, they first built a Buddha, and then vihan around him.
Because of this figure, the second name appeared -Temple of the Reclining Buddha. In general, this posture is more properly called the reclining Buddha, waiting for nirvana. But since he has been lying there for a long time, then most likely he has waited for the nirvana and remains there a long time ago. The flow of people flows counterclockwise around the figure, starting at the head. While you are going, you can’t understand where the ringing is, incessant and loud. And only when you are at your feet, you see, a string of visitors throwing coins in the peas for good luck. Literally 20 baht and happiness

On the territory itself is also worth a walk. Here you can see a large number of stupas (hundreds in number), various Buddha images and many figures carved out of stone. I personally liked the street lamps most of all, I would put one in the country. There is also a traditional temple, where you can go and pray. However, this can be done inside the Temple of the reclining Buddha, there are opportunities for this.
