Hong Kong beaches

Not so long ago, Hong Kong was a "city-state", and since then there has been a developed infrastructure, many business buildings, interesting exhibitions, beautiful parks and many shops, but few people know that the beach industry is also on a grand scale here. It is surprising why it is so unfair that many guidebooks do not contain information about the beaches of Hong Kong, while there are as many as forty of them, and these are free beaches. At the same time, they cannot be called wild, as the municipality makes every effort to keep the coastal areas in order and protect them. But that's not all: if you add up all the remaining beaches - wild and private, there will be about fifty more.
Before choosing a place to relax by the water, it is a good idea to inquire about a particular beach. For example, locals know that it is better not to go to the western beaches of the Kowloon Peninsula, since it is this coast that is washed by the river with the beautiful name Pearl. However, its waters are far from being carried by pearls, but by industrial waste from the Chinese province of Guangdong. By the way, there are no public beaches here, only wild ones..
You also need to know that after showers, a lot of garbage gets into the water, so it is better to wait until the employees of utilities remove it, and only then "move forward" to the best sandy beaches of Hong Kong.
There are four main areas in Hong Kong: Hong Kong Island itself, the Kowloon Peninsula, many adjacent islands and the so-called New Territories. Among the islands, Lantau and Lamma are considered the largest. Therefore, it makes sense to systematize information about beaches at least by islands..
