In Romania, Romanian cabbage rolls (sarmale) should be tried; Romanian soups based on beef broth, chicken or offal (chorbe); hominy fried in sour cream with cheese and bacon (bulz); steak (friptura); spicy sausages (mici); pies with cheese filling (langosi); meat stew with vegetables (“givech”); grilled Black Sea sturgeon (nisetru la gratar).
Those with a sweet tooth should pamper themselves with baked fruits, baklava, Turkish delight, pies with fruit fillings, muffins, cakes and rolls.
If you want to have breakfast like a true Romanian, you will be served bagels with butter, scrambled eggs and coffee. And in cafes or restaurants, as a snack, you should enjoy pies with cheese or meat, hot grilled sausages and meatballs.
