Russian airports - list of international airports in Russia

Airports of Russia

Among the impressive list of airports in Russia there are both large and small regional ones, which receive airplanes from other cities of the country only a few times a week. Foreign guests arrive through international air harbors, from where the residents of Russia, in turn, go on vacation or on business to dozens of countries and hundreds of cities around the world.

International airports of Russia

International status is assigned to the airport of Russia, where the dispatch and reception of aircraft from abroad is organized and border and customs control is carried out. There are about seventy such air gates in the country, but in reality, international aircraft do not land everywhere..
The most significant international air ports are located besides the capital and St. Petersburg in large cities of Siberia, the Urals and the Far East:

  • Vladivostok is responsible for the Asian direction and receives flights from Korea, China, Hong Kong, Thailand and many domestic airports in Russia.
  • Novosibirsk is connected by regular and charter flights with Turkey, Cyprus, Vietnam, Czech Republic, UAE, China and many more countries.
  • From Krasnodar fly to the UAE, Spain, Turkey, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Austria, Egypt and other countries, and passengers can use the services of not only domestic air carriers, but also foreign airlines.
  • Yekaterinburg offers its residents and guests flights to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Thailand, Czech Republic, Turkey and has dozens of domestic flights in Russia.

Metropolitan direction

Moscow airports are well known to everyone who prefers to spend their vacations on active travel:

  • Aeroflot and other members of the SkyTeam alliance are based in Sheremetyevo.
  • Domodedovo is the largest international airport in Russia and 82 airlines fly from here to almost 250 cities around the world. Many carriers are part of the Star Alliance. The peculiarity of the airport is the presence of two parallel "takeoffs", on which landing and takeoff can occur simultaneously, since the distance between them is 2 km.
  • Vnukovo has the largest air terminal complex in the country, which includes a special terminal for servicing flights of top managers arriving with visits from other countries.

Transfer and Aeroexpress

A railway transfer from Moscow stations has been established to the capital's airports. Trains to Domodedovo leave from the Paveletsky railway station and cover the distance in 46 minutes. At Sheremetyevo, passengers are delivered from the Belorussky railway station and takes 35 minutes. Vnukovo is served by trains departing from the Kievsky railway station, which spend a little over half an hour on the way. Trains start moving at 06.00 in all directions.
Tickets for Aeroexpress are available at railway station ticket offices, ticket machines and on the website. At airports, the sale of travel documents is carried out at the entrance to the station.
