Moscow in 3 days: where to go in Moscow
Moscow in 3 days
Having gone to the capital of Russia on vacation or on business, guests of the city strive to see all the main Moscow sights. The list of memorable places worth visiting is truly huge, and therefore all of Moscow in 3 days is a grandiose project, but very interesting.
The UNESCO organization has entered several capital sites in the register of the World Cultural Heritage:
- The Moscow Kremlin, the construction of which was carried out in the second half of the 15th century. On the territory of the architectural monument, special attention is drawn to the Trinity Tower - the highest among the others - and the Nikolskaya Tower, which differs from others in its pseudo-Gothic style. In the Kremlin, magnificent monuments of temple art have been erected - the Assumption, Archangel and Annunciation Cathedrals. The Tsar Cannon and the Tsar Bell are ancient monuments..
- Red Square, rightly called the heart of the capital. To visit Red Square means to touch the most important pages of Russian history. Here stands the magnificent Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed, and the monument to Minin and Pozharsky reminds of their role in uniting the country in the terrible times of turmoil.
- The Novodevichy Convent, founded by Vasily III in the first half of the 16th century. The monastery is dedicated to the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God, and today a museum of the Moscow diocese is open within its walls.
- Church of the Ascension in Kolomenskoye, erected in the first third of the 16th century. The church is the very first stone tent in Russia. The temple was erected in honor of the birth of Ivan the Terrible, heir to Tsar Vasily III.
To our smaller brothers
An ideal continuation of the Moscow in 3 days excursion can be a walk through the capital's zoo. It has a 150-year history, and its aviaries contain over 1100 species of animals. Founded in 1864 by the Imperial Society for the Acclimatization of Animals and Plants, the zoo has become a veritable open-air museum.
Among the most popular expositions of the Moscow Zoo are the House of the Giraffe and the Dolphinarium, the Rock of Birds of Prey and the Elephant, the Ungulates of Africa and the Big Pond.
The brainchild of Pavel Tretyakov
An excursion to the State Tretyakov Gallery often becomes another important point when exploring the sights of Moscow in 3 days. Founded by merchant Pavel Tretyakov in 1856, the museum is world famous as one of the largest collections of paintings.
It is difficult to single out the most significant works among all those kept in the Tretyakov Gallery, but the most monumental ones are "The Appearance of Christ to the People" by AA Ivanov and "Morning in a Pine Forest" by II Shishkin. Admirers of the icon painting genre come to the gallery to see the "Trinity" by Andrei Rublev.
