Karacharovo is located approximately two kilometers from the center of Murom. According to legend, Ilya Muromets was born in this small village. The first mention of Karacharov appeared in the 17th century, after which it was in the possession of several noble families. In the village you can see the Trinity Church (19th century), the Uvarovs' estate, known as «Red Mountain» (late 18th century).
