Metro Maracaibo: diagram, photo, description
The capital of the Venezuelan state of Zulia, the city of Maracaibo, is home to about one and a half million people, and therefore such a mode of transport as the metro has become a solution to the problems with traffic jams on the roads. It was opened in November 2006, and the Maracaibo metro became the third in the country after the metropolitan and Valencia metro.
Today there is only one subway line in the city. Its construction was carried out in stages and individual sections were put into operation. In 2006, the townspeople received the first stage of the Maracaibo metro - two stations and about two kilometers of track. By 2009, two more sections were commissioned, and today the Maracaibo metro is 6.5 kilometers of railway tracks laid both underground and overhead. To enter and exit, passengers can use six stations, where there is the possibility of transferring to other types of public transport.
