Barcelona in 5 days: where to go in Barcelona
Barcelona in 5 days
Barcelona is not quite like typical Spanish cities. Its some surrealism came from Salvador Dali and Antoni Gaudi, who lived here, and the most significant city sights look like they have descended from the pages of a fairytale book. Seeing all the architectural masterpieces of Barcelona in 5 days is not an easy task, but exciting and interesting.
Holy Family and Park Guell
Two of Barcelona's most famous landmarks are renowned for the incomparable talent of the architect Antoni Gaudí. The Sagrada Familia Church is the most famous long-term construction in the world. The temple began to be erected in 1882 with donations from citizens and today its amazing towers, rising over the city, have become the hallmark of Barcelona. One of them has an observation deck with magnificent views.
From the Church of the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell is also perfectly visible, for which Antoni Gaudi designed fabulous buildings and the famous bench decorated with ceramic mosaics. The back of the bench is made taking into account the anatomical features of the human body, and therefore it is especially pleasant to rest on it. The park houses the Gaudí house-museum, and the bright mosaic lizard is the most desirable object for photo shoots in memory of visiting Barcelona.
For fans of the architect's work, we can recommend visiting some more of his creations:
- Casa Batlló, or the House of Bones, in the design of which you cannot find a single straight line. The outlines of the building partially resemble the figure of a dragon, which has become a favorite character in the work of the architect..
- Mila House with unique wrought-iron balconies and circular and eleptic courtyards. Mila House became the first architectural site of the 20th century included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Picasso and his masterpieces
Barcelona in 5 days is also a museum dedicated to the work of Pablo Picasso. The collection is dedicated to the early stage of the artist's work, and the series "Meninas" can rightfully be called its pearl. These works were made based on the paintings of Velazquez, and the museum itself is also famous for its ancient courtyards. The building is a 15th century palace, and therefore even its interiors amaze with splendor.
From the height of Montjuic
The best views of the Catalan capital are from the top of the Montjuïc hill, where many remarkable objects were built for the 1929 World's Fair. The pride of the townspeople is the Magic Fountain with color illumination, which every evening becomes a place of pilgrimage for both residents and guests.
