The city was founded relatively recently. It is just over 200 years old. But on its streets there are many objects associated with events of history and culture. The capital of Crimea is small in size. Lenin Boulevard departs from the station, in need of reconstruction. The square divides it into two parts. The boulevard continues with three main streets running parallel to each other: Alexander Nevsky; Ekaterininskaya; Dolgorukovskaya. They have recently acquired their historical names. Previously, these were the streets of Karl Liebknecht, Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Marx. Other streets of Simferopol also changed their names. For example, Vorovskaya Street became Vorontsovskaya, and Lenin Street - Lazarevskaya.

Dolgorukovskaya street is considered to be the most calm and old one, where green spaces are present in large quantities. The most interesting construction here is the Simferopol Art Museum. The building was built for the Officers' Assembly back in 1913. The final of the street is the Dolgorukovsky monument, which was erected in 1842. Behind this remarkable monument is the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Construction work is still underway there. The temple should become one of the best architectural objects in the city. Earlier on this site there was another temple, which was blown up in 1930. After the Great Patriotic War, Victory Square was created here with a monument to the soldiers-liberators. On the right side of the temple is the building of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, which has an unusual shape. If you go a little further, you can reach the intersection of Pushkinskaya and Dolgorukovskaya streets. Here is located «Simferopol Arbat» with theaters, museums, shops.
The main square of the city is Teatralnaya. Several buildings on this square attract attention with their original architecture. These include the house where Anna Akhmatova lived (now there is a literary cafe), the building of the reading room of the library named after A. Pushkin. There is a unique wall on Teatralnaya, decorated with bas-reliefs of famous people who participated in the fate of Simferopol.
