Kobe metro: diagram, photo, description
The Kobe metro was opened in 1977. One of Japan's largest ports and a center for international trade with a population of over 1.5 million, Kobe needed a new form of urban transport. The Kobe metro made it possible to unload city highways and provide its residents and guests with more comfortable conditions for moving around the metropolis.
In modern Kobe, the metro is represented by two full-fledged lines, the total length of which is more than forty kilometers. For entry, exit and transfers to other types of transport in the metro, 30 stations are open.
The first line of the Kobe subway is called Port-liner. This route connects the city to the airport and contains 16 stations along the train route. The length of the first line is 22.7 kilometers.
Rokko-liner is the second line of Kobe subway. It connects the city with the marine park and there are 14 stations on this route..
Kobe Metro tickets
Payment for travel in the Kobe metro is carried out using tickets, which must be activated at the entrance to the platform in the special reading windows of the turnstiles. Tickets are sold at machines at the stations. Devices are provided with Japanese and English menus.
The Kobe metro emblem, which can easily find the station on city streets, is a turquoise-colored hieroglyph that resembles the English letter "U", slightly tilted to the right.
