Television tower in Prague - the futuristic pride of the Czech Republic
One of the landmarks of Prague is the television tower, which I call «tivi tower», because the Czech version of the pronunciation (Zizkov is something there) has not yet taken root for me. Looking ahead, I immediately recommend this area to you for living in case you are not enthusiastic about the tourist center of Prague. This area is quite comfortable, quiet, calm, and prices in cafes and restaurants are lower. But getting from here is not so difficult. The same Old Town Square is just 10 minutes away by tram. There is also a metro in this area. Now back to the TV tower in Prague.

Television tower in Prague
For all its strangeness, the tower is the best viewpoint in the city, from where you can comfortably and with a camera view all corners of Prague. 360 degree view. Although it should be noted that the central part is far from here and you can only recognize the main attractions by the silhouettes.
Not the most popular attraction, so there are no crowds and that's great. The observation deck has telescopes and hanging chairs in the style «Men in Black», which, together with the small number of visitors, makes the observation deck a very cozy and interesting place to visit.
I traditionally came before sunset to take pictures of Prague day and night at once. So with night photos there is a problem: the light of the internal illumination (blue and red) is reflected in the glasses and you can see all this in the photo. Plus the glasses are unclear and dirty. But during the day it doesn't really bother.
In the evening the tower outside begins to shine «all colors of the rainbow» - the Czech flag type illumination comes on. If with clouds in the sky, then it looks «Fire». As if in a fantasy movie.
There's a restaurant at the top of the tower «Clouds» and your place (that is, the size of the window) will depend on the amount of the order. The drinks (bar) have smaller windows and a worse view. A full meal will have a growth window and a great panoramic view. On the day of my arrival (Friday) afternoon, there were no seats in the restaurant. Said that it was necessary to book in advance. Consider this point. Therefore, I limited myself to only the observation deck. But according to reviews, the restaurant is expensive and the quality is average. So I didn't get upset.
The restaurant downstairs on earth «Mimino» also, according to reviews, is not ice. So it's better to come here only to the observation deck..
Historical reference
Zizkov Television Tower is considered the tallest building in Prague, in particular in the whole Czech Republic - globally. It was designed in 1985 - it was from there that this «unprecedented» the futurism of the era of socialist realism, which was brought to life already in 1992. And against the background of a beautiful city, this tower does not look from the word «generally».
In 2000, as an experiment and for «decorations» towers, ten sculptures of crawling, faceless, black babies were placed on it. On all the main resources dedicated to Prague, you can see exactly the tower with babies in the photo. And in my photographs they are no longer there - they were removed in 2017 for reconstruction and never returned. The tower is already not one of the most wonderful buildings, and these babies are just like fragments of a horror game «Silent Hill», although I probably would have liked.
By the way, the building occupies some top rating among the ugly buildings in the world, which somehow inexplicably made it a source of pride for the Czech Republic (but this is inaccurate). The height is 260 meters and the tower can be seen from almost all parts of Prague. There is even such a joke that the best views of Prague are from the Zizkov Tower because you cannot see the Zizkov Tower from it..
