Khlong Lan Waterfall - 100 meter waterfall and guide how to get to the national park

Once upon a time, we already drove to Sukhothai Historical Park on the way to Laos for a Thai visa, and then we did not know that there is another historical park and several national parks with beautiful waterfalls not far away. On this visit, I decided to correct this misunderstanding and go to see what we missed last time. Now I will only talk about waterfalls, but about Kampeng Pet Historical Park read the link ...

National Park - Khlong Lan National Park

Khlong Lan National Park is located closest to the city with a difficult to pronounce name Kampheang Phet and it is from it that the easiest way to get to the national park is. There are two beautiful waterfalls here: Khlong Lan Waterfall and Khlong Nam Lai Waterfall, for the sake of which it is actually worth going here..

The places are not very familiar to foreigners, so basically there are only Thais here, and apart from us I have not seen other farangs. Perhaps, having visited here, many will understand for themselves that it is not necessary to go to the sea, since there are enough water procedures in the north of Thailand, although you need to live then not far from the national park.

For those who want to stay here longer, there is an opportunity to live in a tent or in small houses. This is especially true if you want to go trekking, as there are also walking routes with visits to caves and other smaller waterfalls..

You can also stop at Kampeng Pet. We have reviews of two guesthouses in this city: Green Park Hotel and Three j gueshouse. Hotels in Kampheng Pet can be searched also on RoomGuru, there you can immediately see all hotels in all databases of existing booking systems. This is relevant, because there are very few hotels here, and there are some in one database, some in another, you get tired of looking.

Khlong lan waterfall

Khlong Lan waterfall is the main one in the national park. After it, I became a lover of waterfalls along the way, since I had never seen such a tall and beautiful one! Perhaps the big waterfalls are all like that, but so far I have nothing to compare. I hope I will soon get to Doi Inthanon National Park near Chiang Mai and draw my conclusions.

In the meantime, this waterfall will be my favorite 🙂 Imagine at a height of 100 meters, a powerful stream falls down, spray sparkles in the sun and flies away tens of meters around, so you can't come close and take pictures. Class! And everywhere around smiling Thais, mostly children, or children with their parents, everyone is swimming, jumping, frolicking and splashing, there is a mega-positive atmosphere of fun and joy. Storm of emotions!

Khlong nam lai waterfall

The Khlong Nam Lai waterfall is not next to the first one, and you need to go to it separately (it is marked on the map). A much quieter waterfall, as the cascade and its individual sections are quite small. But it is much wider and offers many swimming dams. Thai families sit in a large glade in front of the waterfall and gracefully eat the food they brought with them, as well as socialize and periodically go for a swim. Great picnic spot as I understand them!

There are many people, because there is a resurrection. I am sure that on weekdays there are much fewer people here, take a note. Although this applies to many places in Thailand, locals also need to rest..

Information to visit

I came here on a transfer tour, which could be bought in our guesthouse Three J Guesthouse. Since there were 4 of us, the price dropped from 1500 baht per person to 1200 baht. For me it is so expensive for this event, and you still depend on other people. But for you, I specially studied the path and marked it on the map. Everything can be done on a bike, the road is good and without any special climbs, there are a lot of gas stations and there is enough gasoline, go about 60 km in one direction. So it is quite possible to rent a bike in the same guesthouse, skate to the waterfalls and stay there all day, or even a few. And how to get to this province, read the article - Kampeng Pet city, how to get and what to see.

If you are not friends with a bike, then either buy such a transfer, since no public transport goes there, or rent a car in some large city and go here. The nearest town is Pitsanulok, where, according to the owner of the guest house, there should be a car rental.

Entrance fee to Klong Lan National Park is 200 baht per adult and 100 baht per child. The ticket gives access to both waterfalls at once, despite the fact that they are in different places, so do not throw away the ticket after visiting one of them.

There are two more next to this national park: Khlong Wang Chao National Park and Mae Wong National Park, but I have not been to them.
