Pai in Thailand or love at first sight

They say that in Thailand time passes slowly and unhurriedly. So in the village of Pai in Thailand, there is a feeling that it has stopped completely, and even goes back.

They also say that Pai's motto is do nothing, which is also true. I really didn’t want to return from the home atmosphere of relaxation and peace. For the second day now I can’t bring myself to sit down to work. So, if you plan to go there to work, then probably this is not the best place, although it depends on the person. I even looked for a good house in the distance for a long time, but for next time.

All information about Pai is collected here Pai travel guide.

Pai is located in the north of Thailand, even farther north than Chiang Mai, closer to Burma and practically in the mountains, more precisely in the valley surrounded by them. The road winds there as soon as it can, and even me, resistant to all types of transport, was not very good on such winding serpentines, in those moments when my minibus was thrown from side to side. But on the way, you can buy fresh strawberries, which apparently grows here in abundance.

Pai in Thailand has everything a person needs for a calm, party and tourist vacation - cafes, bars, shops, 7/11, nature, trekking, waterfalls, hot springs. Also here, I guess, is cheap grass, since the city is filled with crowds of hip-looking farangs (and locals) with dreadlocks and appropriate clothes. Some have been here, apparently for a very long time, and their appearance, to put it mildly, is not fresh, and they have to earn extra money in different ways.

Naturally, in order to feel the whole atmosphere of Pai, I rented not an ordinary guesthouse, but a thatched bungalow on the banks of the river in the River Side area, called Twin Hut. The bungalow is probably said loudly - a hut on stilts with a mattress inside and a hammock outside, that's all the amenities. The pleasure cost as much as 150 baht. At the same time from 7 to 12 am, free coffee, tea, and bananas. There is no Internet, but he was not needed there, he still went to rest.

The atmosphere of a hippie village and world peace can be seen everywhere, from the T-shirts sold on every corner «I love pai», ending with a policeman banging on a guitar after a hard day.

There is also a Jack Sparrow from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. How similar! It is not easy to distinguish. Moreover, this is Thai!

All this and much more is focused on the local Arbat - Walking Street, which looks completely different in the morning and in the evening. I didn't even recognize her right away at first - in the evening all the shops and bars opened, all sorts of makashniki and handmakers were thrown into the street, and the streets were flooded with crowds of farangs.
