Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai - park of flowers and countries

In the southwest of Chiang Mai there is a wonderful place Royal Park Rajapruek, where you can go for a walk with your child (or without him), take many beautiful photos, relax your soul and generally get distracted. I would not mind having such a park next to the house, so that it is beautiful and functional, and not only trees. And then there are parks almost everywhere, but it's pretty boring there, if, of course, you need something else besides the usual walking. So, if you live in Chiang Mai near Royal Park, then there will be no problems with walking. Although, of course, with frequent visits, you will get tired of paying for admission.

Royal Rajapruek Park

On Wikipedia, the name is a little different - Royal Flora Ratchaphruek, and this is exactly what I know (I forgot where from). On the official website of the park and on Google Maps, the name is exactly what I have in the title. It seems to me that they once changed it slightly, although the meaning has not changed - the Royal Park Ratchapryk (or how to pronounce it there correctly). But this is so, guesswork. In short, all this is the same location.

Where to start ... The park is huge, and there are so many objects that you can't reconsider. I was there for about 5 hours, and everything walked, walked, and walked around only half. Yes, of course, a couple of hours will be enough for a quick run, but if you want to walk along all the paths and enter all the pavilions, then you need a whole day, or even more. To shorten the travel time between points, you can use a bus that runs about once every 10 minutes..

There are many different zones in the royal park. First of all, I looked (I got there just by bus) at a large and beautiful temple surrounded by water. More precisely, this is not really a temple, but a museum with a collection of coins, but built in the style of Thai temples. The building and, in general, the landscape around it is beautiful not only during the day, but also at night, when the lights come on. By the way, if you have not been to Royal Park Rajapruek in the dark, I recommend going.

Then I walked through the area of the park where different countries are represented. Each country has its own small piece of land, on which a building is built in a traditional style, and the territory is ennobled in accordance with the culture of the country. Honestly, I spent a lot of time to find Russia, which is present on the map, but in fact it turned out that it is not..

It's a pity, it would be very interesting to look. Apparently there was no one to create this piece. Instead of Russia and several other countries, there are commercial pavilions, for example, from Thai Airways.

Well, after that I just walked without a specific goal in different pavilions and zones. There is an excellent playground with bridges, crossings, a flower pavilion with orchids, a tropical pavilion with dried beetles, and simply beautiful lawns with paths. I didn't have time to go through everything, as I said.

Now for another time, all the more there is a desire to be there again. Still, such a park ...

Information to visit

The ticket price is 200 baht, for a child 150 baht (100-140 cm). Children up to 100 cm tall - free. The ticket includes a bus ride through the territory. Bicycle rental 60 baht per day.

Opening hours from 8 am to 6 pm. But I left later, nobody kicked out. Somewhere closer to 20 o'clock, the lights on the territory were partially extinguished, there was not a soul anymore. Moreover, there was no one at the exit either, which means that you can enter the park late at night for free. Weird. Maybe you can come at night. But maybe this is just my experience.

Take a map at the entrance, it may come in handy, the park is large. But they may not give it out on purpose, so you need to ask.

For booking hotels in Chiang Mai, I recommend the service RoomGuru and mine overview of guesthouses in the historical center of the city (squared).

On the map

The park is located in the southwest of Chiang Mai near the airport. It's easy to get there by bike, there are signs along the way. If there is no bike, then Grabtaxi, the price for it is quite affordable.
