Mother and child room in Sheremetyevo - testing
When we flew to Poland last time, it so happened that our flight was in the evening and from Sheremetyevo. It is far away for us to go there (Domodedovo is much closer), and my son Yegor has a daytime sleep, which is undesirable to miss. And then the brilliant idea came to mind to use the room of the mother and child, having arrived at the airport early and put the child to sleep in it. Really cool and comfortable thing this room! Even just to wait a couple of hours.

Mother and child room at Sheremetyevo
I want to remind you that at least a child needs to make sure travel insurance. And preferably a worker, not the first one that comes along. Take a look my rating of insurance companiesth and the principles on which to choose. Otherwise, if the child suddenly falls ill, then you can get money. I have so stupidly already had.
Actually, we did just that. We arrived in the morning and immediately arrived at Terminal D, from where the departure was. It is this terminal that will be discussed, and I do not know what children's rooms are in other terminals. By the way, the tickets were monitored simultaneously through Aviaseels and Skyscanner, and there is no difference, everywhere the prices, plus or minus, were the same.
Egor ate, slept, played, and it was just the time of our departure. The room was comfortable and turned out to be better than we had previously imagined. Firstly, this is not one room, but several (we initially thought that there would be one room at all), and secondly, there is a kitchen with highchairs, a kettle, a refrigerator and a microwave, as well as a playroom with toys (almost a playground ) and a relaxation room with sofas and a large TV. And besides the toilet there is also a shower, if suddenly something. Well, and of course there is a place for changing.
There are two sleeping rooms: one for small children, especially with cribs, and the second for pregnant women and older children, where there were sofas and larger cots.
They wanted to put Egor in a crib, since he is still small, but his wife asked to go to a room for large children (to lie down next to him, and not sit in an armchair), where they were given a sofa. I don't know if this is a special case, or if you can always ask, but it's great that we went to a meeting. Otherwise, Yegor would not really sleep in an unfamiliar room..
Rules of stay
The most important rule is that the room is intended for departing passengers who have a ticket or boarding pass. You also need to show your passport.
The room is free and open around the clock. Designed for children under 7 years of age and pregnant women (second half of pregnancy). The maximum stay is a day, but may be asked earlier if the airport is heavily loaded.
The second rule is that only one parent can stay here. More precisely, one parent for one child. This means that if there is only one child, then dad or mom must walk somewhere at the airport all this time. In principle, if you use such a room for just a couple of hours, then, I think, it will not make it difficult for one parent to sit somewhere in a cafe with a cup of tea, surfing at the local Wifi. I suppose that such a limitation is due to the number of people, well, so that there are fewer. Although it is still not entirely clear how you can separate a family, especially in reality I will not say that the room was sold out.
It's nice that the workers in the children's room came into our position (my son has a disability), and allowed me to be present too. And then I had to sit outside the door and periodically run to help. We were also told that there is a room for disabled people on the floor below (both accompanying persons can be there), only it is not very tailored for children, so we'd better stay in a standard room for mother and child. That's it. And, and they themselves offered us to use the escort service, when a special person conducts through passport control and skip-the-line inspection to the plane door.
Where is the room
Located in Terminal D, on the second floor in the right wing of the building. Even before passport control
There are also play areas after passing through passport control. If you need to entertain your child while waiting for a flight. They are located at gates 14-15 (work around the clock) and gates 17-18 (work from 6 am to 12 am). There are playgrounds and televisions. An accompanying person must be with the child. Designed for children under 5 years old.
