Trip to Maldives - Kuramati island
With this post I want to open a new category «Readers' travels», in which I will post travel stories of my readers and friends, as well as guest posts from other bloggers. At first I didn't want to make this section, but after that I repeatedly faced questions about it, I decided why not.
My friend Andrey recently went to the Maldives on a honeymoon trip. And he was happy to share his photographs from there, and also briefly tell about this place, which is still the ultimate dream of many Russian people ...
My story about a trip to the Maldives will be short, photos will tell everything for me. We liked it there, we didn’t regret spending it, and if we have a choice where to go, we will go there again. Once a year you can afford it.
Where is the Maldives located? The Maldives are located in the Indian Ocean and are officially called the Republic of Maldives. This is a chain of coral islands, there are 1192 of them. Time difference Maldives Moscow: -1 hour. The capital is Male, and all planes arrive here, at the only airport. How long to fly to Maldives? 9 hours by direct flight, and 12-14 hours with a transfer.
From Male, all holidaymakers fly to hotels by seaplanes, or delivered by boats. The islands are small, so one island - one hotel. Our island was big, about 1300m by 500m. All leisure in the hotel, it ate, bought, slept. Well, diving with snorkeling. Although in Egypt I liked the corals more. All excursions that are here are also related to the sea. They are taken by boat to either look at the corals or feed the stingrays and sharks.
There is really white sand, so the sea looks green. There is almost no wind. And for some reason there are no stars. The palms are imported, and the native trees are tall. The season in the Maldives differs from the non-season only in the presence of clouds in the sky, and rare rain. The weather is always warm, about 30 degrees. The water temperature is also the same. We were out of season, in the summer, and everything suited us. The locals are like Arabs. Friendly but unobtrusive service. Very few people speak English, but there is no language barrier, as there are English-speaking Europeans where necessary.
