Caves of Crimea: Emine Bair Khosar or Mammoth Cave

Before our hiking in the mountains we met our new friends who live near Simferopol. They told us about the famous Crimean cave Emine Bair Khosar and offered to go there. I'll tell you about how we got there by ATV some other time. I can only mention that there were too many sensations, as this four-wheeled monster is too powerful and strove to throw me off.

Cave of Crimea Emine Bair Khosar - is located on the lower plateau of Chatyr Dag at an altitude of about 1000 meters. Therefore, those who go to it are given the opportunity to admire the mountain views. Of course, they are not as pretty as with upper plateau Chatyr Dag, but as a bonus it is fine. In addition to Emine Bair Khosar, there is also the popular Marble Cave and a number of small caves, which are visited only by individual tourist groups..

Our friends assured us that there are much more people in the neighboring Marble Cave, and despite its great fame, the Emine Bair Khosar cave is in no way inferior to it. And I had no reason not to believe them, so we did so and visited only one and did not regret anything.

Crimean caves: Emine Bair Khosar

It received the second name Mammoth Cave because of the mammoth that fell inside. Initially, the entrance to the cave was a 16-meter vertical well (where animals fell) and only in our time was an artificial entrance for organized groups made. We are shown the upper level of the cave, and there is also the lower Bair, which is closed to visitors. The excursion is long and it is quite difficult to remember all the halls in which we were, as well as the names of certain stalactites and stalagmites. Therefore, not all of the photos from Emine Bair Khosar will be signed. Immediately I apologize for their quality, it was impossible to use a tripod, and the built-in flash will spoil the picture very much.

The length of the cave is about one and a half kilometers, and the depth is about 120 meters. She is much more than Be patient Koba, which I wrote about a couple of days ago, and about the same as Batu caves in Malaysia. True, in the latter there are no stalactites and stalagmites..
