Expensive hotel, Bangkok Airways business class and lobsters!
I remember before I wrote articles about economy and about anti-consumption, and with some people there were disputes on these topics in the comments. Indeed, how can you give up something if you have not tried to live differently. As one person once told me, they say, you are cunning, justifying the fact that you do not have a financial opportunity. On the one hand, I don’t think that one should try everything in life in order to draw conclusions, but on the other hand, I myself am curious how much I personally need it. It's great to take on your own skin and try on life with increased spending..
In general, during our last winter in Thailand, we decided to try some things: an expensive hotel, business class, and lobster. It turned out that way, we did not specifically choose these positions, but we have to start somewhere. I report.
The content of the article
Expensive hotel
Upon arrival in Bangkok, we settled in Expensive hotel (for us), where the room cost as much as 2500 baht per day. Before that, we had never lived for such a price in Thailand, usually in the range of 1000 baht or less, an average of 500 baht..
What can I say ... Well, it's nice of course: everything is new, there is a lot of space, appliances, kitchen, even a ladyboy at the reception. And it's cool when the air conditioner is in the living room, it's more pleasant to turn it on at night, and not the one above the bed.
And the rooftop pool with city views is impressive. Well, you can see from the photo yourself, you want to move to Bangkok right away. In general, to summarize, I liked it. Well, how can ordinary freelancers not like the comfort??
Business Class
From Bangkok it was necessary to fly to Koh Samui (5 ways how to get there), and we bought air tickets a day before the flight, we still could not decide whether to go there or not. Unfortunately, Bangkok Airways' regular class tickets were already very expensive and almost did not differ from business, so I decided when, if not now, at least see what it is, because business class for a long flight has not been for us for a long time shines, the price is appropriate. (In general, I advise you to buy tickets in advance through Aviasales.ru and Skyscanner.ru, we usually use them.)
At the airport, when we approached the Blue Ribbon counter (for business class), they looked at us with a glance, they say, you guys are in the next door to ordinary mortals. Heh, obviously we don't look like typical business passengers, clothes are not the same, hairstyles, and facial expressions.
We checked in and after that we were entitled to a special waiting room, like VIP. For some reason, there was no playground in it, as in an ordinary hall. Sadness, we are with Yegor. But there is peace and quiet, grave and noble men sit and drink coffee. Only you can't sit quietly with Yegor, they rushed after him all over the room, they nailed him to climb everything around. So it didn't work out to feel like a millionaire. The child is not at all adapted to VIP conditions, he grows up as a rogue.
There is a complimentary coffee shop in the Business Lounge. And we took a fool and bought Padtai at the airport even before registration, who knew something. On the other hand, in this cafe, the choice, although wider than in the usual Bangkok Airways hall, is also so-so: tea bags, and Tom-Yam from a bum bag. No, I ordered it, of course (I didn’t know what he was), and even ate it, after all, the cost of the tickets had to be beaten off. Probably, baht beat off 20, somewhere so much it costs in 7/11. I regret that I did not take a roll of toilet paper from the toilet, I would still have twenty. In general, I feel it's time to go to Turkey in All-Inclusive, to improve skills, you might have gotten used to it and squeezed out something else..
The toilet there is also not easy, so I decided not to tempt fate and be patient until the plane. I limited myself only to washing my hands, suddenly I would break all this electronics or get an electric shock. I am wild, what really.
In the plane itself, we were generally disappointed - there were no wide seats, which I always saw in films, but just a fenced-off piece of the cabin, where there was no one else but us. Some wrong business class, in my dreams it was completely different. But the attitude of the stewardesses is a song, they blew away the specks of dust right from us, it became already uncomfortable: you want water, you want to eat, and what else can you do. Strange that no massage was offered. Well, boarding / disembarking from the plane is ahead of the rest of the world, we are the first and all only after we leave. Such VIPs are straightforward, bloggers, yeah. Plus, we were taken to Koh Samui in a separate private car from the plane to the airport..
Lobsters
Well, the last thing to try was lobsters. Here Daria insisted more, since I was completely parallel. Therefore, before leaving Bangkok, we did go to the Kung Seafood restaurant or something like that. We have been looking closely at him for a long time, for 3 months while we lived there, but we still could not dare, the same month you can then go to Thai eateries instead of lobsters.
We ordered a couple of lobsters (2500 baht / kg), rice, and some other couple of dishes. And something didn't bother us at all. No, they taste normal, but why such a stir around them is not clear to me. I still understand, durians there or mango, indeed, unusual, but lobsters are no better than ordinary shrimp and are just as skinny. I picked up the armor, tried to eat it (after all, it is included in the price), but I was not impressed either.
P.S. I hope everyone understood that there is sheer sarcasm and self-irony, so for some reason it was written :) And the real conclusions that I made for myself from all this experience, I will write a little later. It would not have been me if philosophical thoughts had not arisen.
