Spit Dolgaya and the village Dolzhanskaya - a paradise for outdoor activities
The Dolgaya spit, or sometimes it is called the Dolzhanskaya spit, is located in the Yeisk district of the Krasnodar Territory, near the village of Dolzhanskaya. The data on the length of the spit on the Internet is different, apparently the mileage is constantly changing. Most often the figure is 8-10 km. The Dolgaya Spit separates the waters of the Azov Sea and the Taganrog Bay, respectively, on the one hand the sea is calm, on the other - the waves, the color of the water is also different. I have come across references to this braid more than once, and therefore it was interesting what attracts crowds of people here..
Let me remind you that if you do not like camping, then it is best to look for hotels through RoomGuru. This is an aggregator that searches for all booking systems at once, Booking, Ozone, Islet, etc. Therefore, the database of hotels is the most complete, plus you can find out in which system the hotel will be cheaper.

Spit Dolgaya
Upon arrival in the village of Dolzhanskaya, the first thing we did was immediately go to the very end of the Dolgaya Spit, because this is the most symbolic place. From the village itself, it takes 10-15 minutes by car. Almost in front of the very tip there are frightening posters about storms and tornadoes, which prohibit setting up tents. However, this confuses few people..
What can you say about the Dolzhanskaya spit? A strip of shell rock sushi separating two water surfaces of different colors and different «textures», can not be beautiful by definition. A great place for photo shoots, reflections and philosophical conversations.
And what a wind here! I can perfectly understand the surfers and kiters who come here because of the wind characteristics. Here they have such expanse! I hope someday I will be able to try kite too ...
But it’s hard for me to understand those who live in a tent at the very end of the spit and don’t go in for sports. Garbage and the smell of the toilet completely discourages all the desire to be there. It is clear that everyone wants to go to the toilet, and there are no trees near the ground (some shells around), but you could have taken the garbage with you! In parallel, another question arises here, but can such wild beaches be generally clean if so many people come there and they all need to go to the toilet? Maybe it makes sense to go to the paid toilets from the braids.?
Since the Long Spit is long and there are beaches on both sides, you can still find normal places, both paid and free. After literally driving for half an hour, we found a couple of places that were suitable for us. Moreover, the majority of paid campgrounds are now, the coastline is almost all closed from free entry, but the entrance is open for pedestrians..
You also need to take into account such a moment as the muddy bottom, in our free parking lot there was just such a bottom and I can't say that it's nice.
Prices in campsites are about the same - 150 rubles a day, 200 rubles a day for a shed. A room in a barrack on the beach (two beds, amenities on the street) - 500 rubles. In the very village of Dolzhanskaya, we rented a house with two rooms, a shower, a toilet and a kitchen for 500 rubles for four with normal furnishings (more expensive in the season).

For information
- On the longest spit it is very windy and there is no shadow. But some campsites have sheds.
- Along the entire coast there are simple campsites with a minimum of amenities: toilets, garbage cans, sheds.
- Many people recommend the Cossack Coast complex, where the beach is good, and the conditions, and accommodation. But the rest is not very budgetary..
- The village Dolzhanskaya is located at the very beginning of the Dolgaya spit, and it takes about 15 minutes by car to get to the spit or to some beaches. But Dolzhanskaya itself also has beaches.
- Accommodation can be booked in advance, or you can look at the place in the old fashioned way. But you shouldn't expect super conditions for cheap, it's better to go to Turkey.
- It is much more convenient to go to Dolzhanskaya Spit by car than without it.
- There are free wild places, but if you go for a long time, then it seems to me better to get up in the campsite, at least because of the toilet, or look for a place where there are trees.
- Entertainment to a minimum. There is a magnet and a market.
