Life hack how not to freeze in Europe (Spain) in winter
Fresh. After a trip to Spain to the Canary Islands.
When you are looking for an apartment in Europe in the winter through Airbnb and put a filter «Heating», then the sample becomes significantly smaller. And it's not even the price that the owner can charge more (electricity is expensive), but the fact that many simply do not indicate whether there is something for heating or not. Well, most of the apartments have no heating..
If the choice of apartments is sufficient, then you can always check with each owner if he has a heater. As a rule, this is an air conditioner with a heating mode. I saw condo in the photos - ask.
In my case, the choice was initially small, since I had booked a few days before arrival. It would not be possible to stay outside, what kind of heating is there. Therefore, it was decided to buy a fan heater if it gets cold in the apartment..
It turned out to be cold (but the apartment is interesting). So I went to the nearest MediaMarkt (near Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and bought it. Fan heaters cost 15-44 euros. I could have taken the cheapest one for 15 euros, but I decided to buy a Rowenta 2 kW, because I know this company and the plastic was more pleasant to the touch.
By the way, it was quite enough, despite the fact that the apartment consisted of two rooms and the area was rather big. Recommendations that 2 kilowatts are calculated for about 15-20 square meters, rather for colder climates than in southern Spain.
I took it with me. Will come in handy yet.
P.S. The captain was with you Obvious :) But jokes are jokes, and not everyone guesses that 15 euros can so easily solve the issue of heating when traveling in winter to southern Europe.
