Pranburi Forest Park in Hua Hin and its mysterious mangroves
WITH sights of Koh Chang I finally finished, now I turn to Hua Hin :) Probably, this is the problem of all bloggers, when there is more material than time to write it. I have posts for another year ahead ...
Hua Hin is a great place for wintering and resting in general. The nature here is less modest and the beaches are simpler than on the islands, but it is calm, especially in the suburbs, there are no bags, and getting here is easier than ever from Bangkok. And there is something for an inexperienced tourist to see, for example, Pranburi Forest Park and its mangroves..

Pranburi Forest Park coastal area
The park is conventionally divided into two parts: a coastal zone and a mangrove forest. Usually, everyone writes only about mangroves, although the other half is worthy of attention. Yes, there is nothing special to look at, but it is great for a picnic, there are tables with benches near the shore for this, where you can sit with your family in the silence and forest shade. For some reason I immediately remembered places for a savage rest on the Black Sea surrounded by pitsunda pines. Only here it is much calmer.
By the way, if you want, you can get up here with a tent, because there is a camping. True, it is not known when it was last used; the washbasins near the site were disconnected from the water supply a long time ago. But there is nothing on the territory there is a toilet, where, in theory, there should also be water. Well, and there are houses for 6 people at a price of 2000 baht per day..
The beach along the park is called Pran Kiri Beach and is about a kilometer long. It is quite shallow here, and apparently that is why the locals wade on artificial artificial islands in order to somehow entertain themselves. Although maybe they are collecting something edible there.
Pranburi Forest Park mangroves
I have seen mangroves before, but I got to know them better only here near Hua Hin. I really liked the idea of the park, to take and lay wooden platforms through the mangrove forest, inside which you just can't find yourself. Thanks to these wooden paths, you can climb into the wildest jungles that look mysterious and fabulous. The route is circular, you go first along one path, and you can return along the other. Some of the plants are signed, along the way there are information boards describing the flora and fauna of this place. The walk takes about half an hour.
If you look closely, you can see blue crabs, mudskippers, lobsters and other representatives below in the water among the roots. I was not lucky, and I saw only the most common crabs, which I did not photograph. I also read information that somewhere there is an island inhabited by monkeys, where you can just swim by boat on the Pranaburi River.
How to get there Pranburi Forest Park
Pranaburi Park is located 20 kilometers south of Hua Hin, and the easiest way to get there is by bike. The road towards the end of the road becomes rather beautiful and uncrowded, so it's even pleasant to drive. The route can include a visit on the road Mount Khao Tao Temple and Sai Noi Beach.
The park is open from 6.00 to 18.00, but somehow it is not particularly guarded, that is, you can come at any time. True, at the entrance to the mangrove thickets, it is written in plain text that it is allowed to visit only until 18.00, it is possible that the mangroves do not swallow visitors into their bowels or some large crab, going out to hunt at night, would not bite in half. In any case, I wandered in the mangroves before dark and I can say that it is not very pleasant to be there at dusk..
the entrance is free.
If you want to visit this place, you can also stay in Hua Hin. We have articles about budget guesthouse and Hua Hin budget hotel. Search more hotels in Hua Hin you can follow this link, or you can come to the place and immediately go to the area where all the guesthouses are concentrated, which is next to the sea and the pier.
