Pushchino on Oka - estate and ecological trail, weekend itinerary
Today I want to tell you about the Pushchino estate on the Oka, not to be confused with Pushchino on Nara, where we also hope to stop by one of these days. I must say right away that we liked the town and its surroundings very much, it is green and good. I can recommend this trip as an itinerary for a weekend or even two - with an overnight stay in a tent on the river bank. It will be a little more difficult to wander here with small children than in paved parks, due to the inability to use the stroller, but, nevertheless, it is still real.
Tell me who has children, do you always go on a day or weekend trip for a very long time? Either we are doing something wrong, or it should be so, but even to go to some estate it takes us several hours to get ready, as if not a walk, but an entire expedition is planned :)

Estate Pushchino on the Oka
After half a day, we got out for a walk in the Pushchino estate on the Oka. Despite the fact that it is located within the city and is an architectural monument, there is complete desolation here. If no one takes care of it in the near future, then soon there will be nothing left of it. And the place is beautiful - on the high bank of the Oka there is a three-story house and from it down to the river leads, or rather led, a chic staircase, and not far from the house there are a linden alley and a swampy pond. Visiting such places, I am always amazed at how people used to live, cannot be compared with our concrete cages..

Getting inside the estate is problematic - most of the windows are boarded up or bricked up, and the entrances are covered with iron sheets. If you try, then, of course, you can climb into the open windows of the upper floors, but we did not do this, since, most likely, there is nothing to look inside there after the hospital was located in the estate building in Soviet times. And it is not entirely correct to climb where it is specially closed.
The Pushchino estate on the Oka was built in the 18th century, although the first mention of these lands dates back to the 16th century. The estate changed owners many times: boyar Pushchin - retired major Artsibashev - Ofrosimov nobles - merchant Weber - tea merchant Perlov - owner of Kashtanov factories. It was also rebuilt several times and before the revolution, representing a whole complex - a church, household buildings, a cascade of ponds and a park. Now there are only the main house in the classical style, almost destroyed stables and a glacier cellar. At the time when the estate was with the Ofrosimovs, the composer Alyabyev often visited here, who composed his works in the estate and later married the widow Ofrosimova.

Ecological trail in Pushchino
In fact, not only the Pushchino estate on the Oka is interesting, but also the so-called ecological path, of which this estate is a part. It will be a good weekend itinerary. The length of the trail is about 4 km and information boards are installed along the entire path, therefore, despite the dense forest and overgrown paths, it is difficult to get lost. What good is there?
Ecological trail map
First of all, a pleasant walk in the woods along the river. Only mosquitoes and heat can cause inconvenience. You can neutralize the effect of the latter by plunging into the cool Oka (there will be two good sandy beaches along the way) or in a simple equipped font with running spring water.

Nearby it turns out to be some kind of overgrown and destroyed suburban structure
Some of the paths are mowed and nettles are not terrible

There are raspberries here too

Naturally, I could not pass by
Not far from the font is a sinkhole, which is a small rift in the ground. This place reminded us of something Revival in the Caucasus. And a little further away you can contemplate a small waterfall and a spring. We walked slowly these 4 km in as much as 5 hours with many stops. I want to warn you right away that it will be difficult to walk there with a stroller, the paths are forest, not park, in places they are very narrow and through thickets of nettles, moreover, part of the path goes along a steep slope. So a sling or similar device can be very helpful in this situation. Tourist foam will also not be superfluous, because there are no benches for rest in the forest..

How to get to Pushchino
Naturally, the easiest way to do this is by car. You need to go along the Simferopol highway and immediately after the bridge over the Oka there will be a turn to Pushchino. Having reached the city, you immediately find yourself on the central Nauki Avenue and approximately in the middle of it you need to turn left, and you will come across a street that runs along the Oka. Here you need to decide which side you will go along the path (there is no particular difference). If you turn right on this street, after 100 meters there will be an observation deck with a parking lot and a sharp descent down. If you turn left, you will need to drive 800 m along a dirt road (the asphalt will be replaced by a dirt road) through the summer cottages and you will see an information board of the ecological path and a path down.
By public transport you can get from Serpukhov by bus 26, get off at the hospital stop. Electric trains from Moscow and intercity buses run to Serpukhov. Also, immediately from the Yuzhnaya metro station, you can get to Pushchino by bus 359, so it will most likely be faster. In the latter case, it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the bus station in Pushchino to the observation deck.
In any case, the town is small, it is quite difficult to get lost, besides, the locals will always tell you where to go.
