Barcelona zoo
There is a zoo in Barcelona, whose history began in 1892. Then the banker Luis Marty Codolar donated part of his collection of animals for the city zoo. Today it is located on a small area of 13 hectares, and its most popular and famous inhabitants are giant anteaters, hippos, western lowland gorillas and orangutans from the island of Borneo. In total, 7000 guests live in aviaries and open spaces, representing four hundred different biological species to visitors.
ZOO Barcelona
The Barcelona Zoo was the first in Europe to open a dolphinarium, where seals also perform together. The park hosts dozens of various shows, events, and educational programs. In the fresh air, surrounded by smaller brothers, you can arrange a birthday celebration or family celebration, spend time usefully during children's school holidays or weekends, order professional photos.
City's legends
The main celebrity of the zoo in Barcelona for several decades has been a huge male gorilla named Snowflake. His story is still told by mothers to Spanish children. Captured by hunters in Equatorial Guinea back in 1967, the baby was an albino - his coat had a perfect white color. He was lucky - the cub named Snowflake ended up in the caring hands of Spanish biologists and for 40 years the name of the Barcelona Zoo was associated with the name of Snowflake by many initiates..
