Bang Saray Beach - a fishing village on the edge of geography

The beach is located in a quiet place of the same name - Bang Saray, about 15 km from the center of Pattaya. This is not a very tourist village, not yet built up with high-rise hotels, where package tourists are not accommodated. But everything changes, so we must hurry.

In the meantime, there are so few foreigners, and in particular, Russians, on the beach that in a couple of days you will know everyone by sight. True, on weekends Thais come here to relax, settling in large companies and arranging picnics. But on weekdays, the beach looks almost deserted..

Beach description

The beach leaves a very pleasant impression, but not for every taste. There is little or no standard tourist infrastructure, but there is a long curved coastline, a strip of yellow sand stretching into the distance, several fishing boats on one side and the outlines of high-rise buildings of a large city on the horizon on the other..

A great option to sit in silence and solitude or burn out in the sun without shade on «uninhabited» parts of the beach.

The width of the beach is from a couple of tens of meters (at high tide). The beach is about three kilometers long. In the village of Bang Saray, along the beach, starting from the local Walking street, there is a palm alley, which gives shade and cool almost all day.

Further, by the road that runs along the beach, separate trees grow. But in the part where the territory of the bungalow hotels Sea Sand Sun Resort & Spa and Sunset Village Beach Resort adjoins the beach, there are no trees or shadows anymore..

Almost always the beach is completely calm. What is for some an indisputable plus and a disadvantage for others who like to jump in the waves. But it will definitely be easy and pleasant for children to swim here. The entry into the water is shallow and smooth, near the coast it is not deep.

Entering the water, depth and waves

There are almost never waves, complete calm. Entry into the water is very smooth, it is very shallow near the shore, it is convenient for children. There are no stones on most of the beach, the sand is rather coarse and yellow. The disadvantage of the beach is that in some places, a couple of meters from the surf, the bottom becomes muddy. On those rare days when there is a wave, the water seems very dirty because of this..

During calm periods, the water is clear and clear, but it is not very pleasant to walk in the silt with your feet. At low tide the sea goes very far from the coast. Low tide season starts in March.

Sun beds and shade

For 800 m, starting from Walking Street and the park in Bang Saray, there is a palm alley along the beach, giving good shade. There, at the beginning of the beach, near the temple, there is a small park with a playground, it is convenient to walk there during the day - the trees give shade, a refreshing breeze blows from the sea. A little further from the fish piers, there are Thai cafes offering bedding and an umbrella right on the beach.

At the more distant end of the beach from the village, there are also sun loungers offerings, where Na Jomtien 56th Street faces the sea, there is a small beach cafe on the right with refreshments, umbrellas and sun loungers. Further, towards Pattaya, the beach becomes uninhabited, there is no infrastructure on it. In addition to sand, only fences and the territory of expensive hotels at the far end.

Infrastructure

Bang Saray also has Walking Street, just like Pattaya. In the evenings, there is a small market, local cafes open with the usual assortment for Thailand. At the beginning of the beach, a green shady park with a playground and exercise equipment is adjacent to Walking Street..

The area is very quiet, rustic calm. Life flows slowly and unhurriedly. Within a few days after arrival, everyone will know you by sight, a new person is immediately visible here, especially on the beach.

On weekends, Thais come to the beach and cafes, and on weekdays on the street you can meet mainly elderly Europeans. There are few Russian tourists here. But in the side streets, children can play right on the road - this is such a quiet place.

Nevertheless, there is some infrastructure for the life of a tourist here. There are two 7-Elevens on the main road, near the sea, opposite each other. On Sukhumvit, quite far from the village, there is a mini Big Sea. You can buy groceries and some things at the evening market, which is open every day..

If necessary, for shopping, you can go to Pattaya - 15 km to large Tesco Lotus and Big Sea. On Sukhumvit before them there is a white tuk-tuk. There is also a cafe, not only local, but also quite European. Large good Italian restaurant La Taverna. Many small seafood cafes near the beach.

There is no nightlife as such in Bang Saray. This is why he is wonderful for someone. Quiet peaceful place for families with young children. Next to Walking Street Bang Saray there is a small green and shady park with a playground, gazebos and exercise equipment.

At the end of the beach, which is closer to Pattaya, there are bungalow hotels. A very good option for relaxing surrounded by tropical nature, in silence and solitude. Not far from them, at Sukhumvit, is the large new Cartoon Network Amazone water park..

Approximately opposite the middle of the beach, but on the other side of Sukhumvit, is one of the main attractions of Pattaya - Nongnut Park Tropical Garden. Also, Bang Saray is very close to one of the best beaches in the area - Military beach (Military Beach, Thai name Sai Kaew).

Houses and hotels on the beach

There are no large resorts in the Bang Saray village, the place is quiet and a bit rustic. Relatively many detached houses for rent, mostly «thaistyle». Even at the peak of the season, you can find nice accommodation close to the sea. For example, at a price of 10-12 thousand baht per month with a long-term lease, during the season, you can find a house with one bedroom and all the necessary furniture..

Also in the village itself you can find apartments for rent, there are several low-rise condos near the sea. In addition to the Bang Saray village itself, which is more often called a fishing village, there are expensive hotels, such as:

  • Sunset Park Resort & Spa
  • Sunset Village Beach Resort
  • Sea Sand Sun Resort & Spa
  • Palm Grove Resort

They do not have multi-storey buildings, they are all made in the style of a bungalow. This part of the beach is very quiet and practically deserted, located 2-3 km from the Bang Saray village, closer to Pattaya. So far, the village of Bang Saray is a quiet place, mostly one and two-storey buildings, but in the future it is planned to build several multi-storey condos and hotels..
