Nopparat Thara Beach in Krabi - less touristy neighbor of Ao Nang
Picturesque, quiet and quite long, Nopparat Thara is located next to the most popular beach in the area - Ao Nang. The further from Ao Nang, the less civilization on the beach. In the end, it fades away altogether. At the far end from Ao Nang, the beach ends with a beautiful casuarin grove and a boat dock at the confluence of the river into the sea.
The beach is located in the Hat Noppharat Thara National Park, but is available absolutely free of charge to everyone. However, there are not very many tourists on the beach, it is much less popular than neighboring Ao Nang. So here it is quite possible to enjoy solitude (but not on weekends, when Thais come here for a picnic and specifically litter).

Beach description
The part of the beach adjacent to Ao Nang is more developed infrastructurally. There are several large, expensive hotels, cafes for tourists and entertainment. A road runs along the beach, and between it and the sand, a narrow strip of trees, a path and a concrete fence are a favorite vacation spot for local Thais, especially on weekends..
Closer to the end of the beach (if you go from Ao Nang), the strip between the road and the sea widens and there is already a real casuarin forest (national park). The beach is not very clean, although it is picturesque in itself, albeit not a bounty at all. Usually, after all, most go to Ao Nang beach, it is more beautiful.
Entering the water, depth and waves
In the part of the beach where it adjoins Ao Nang, the sea is very shallow, knee-deep. On the one hand, it is convenient for children to swim. On the other hand, here, as well as on the neighboring beaches, the ebb tide is strongly expressed, during which the water goes so far that you can not even think about swimming. The bottom of the sea at low tide is a little silty, a lot of crabs and small pebbles. The sand on the beach is light gray and with a yellow tint.
At the far end of the beach from Ao Nang, where the river flows into the sea, the sea is deeper. It is best to come here by guessing the time according to the tide table. We did so, otherwise at first it was like this - you come, but there is no sea, we had to go back home. We chose for ourselves about the middle of the beach, there is where to park the car, relatively clean, few people, far from the river.
Sun beds and shade
Plenty of natural shade from trees all over the beach. But there is a shadow only until lunchtime. From time to time, benches are also found along the beach. Further to the pier along the beach, tall casuarines grow, where the nat begins. the park. There are no sun loungers on the beach.

Infrastructure
At the far end of the beach from Ao Nang (right side), where the boat dock is located, far out into the sea, there is a picturesque sand spit, along which you can walk. You can go especially far at low tide. There are also several small rocks overgrown with bushes from above. There are practically no cafes and shops right on the beach, if just a couple of pieces.
But if you cross the road that runs along the beach, then there are cafes, shops, salons and stalls with all sorts of things - all for a tourist. If you go deeper into the area, there you will find 7-11 and a market near the mosque, which is open on some days.
Houses and hotels on the beach
Almost the only major beach resort here is Holiday Inn, located where Ao Nang Beach merges with Nopparat Thara, across the street from the sea. There are also hotels, but they are not on the beach, but across the street from it, while they are quite simple, bungalow type. The main part of the hotels is a little deeper.
Next to the Holiday Inn there is also a similar one - All Seasons Beach Resort. About in the middle of the beach is a well-rated and not expensive Massage Corner Guesthouse. Now the area of this beach is being developed and many construction projects have begun, so in the future there will probably be more large resorts on the beach..
Most of the houses for rent are located monthly in Ao Nang, but there are also houses in the Noorat Thara area. All of them are not quite within walking distance from the sea, the closest are 15 minutes on foot, but there are not many of them..

Be sure (and I insist) to check for discounts or special offers on the excellent Roomguru service. He will quickly and easily show you discounts in all existing booking systems. In Asia, for example, there are a lot of offers on Agoda.com, which are much more interesting than for exactly the same hotels on Booking.com.

How to find the beach
The road along the Ao Nang beach bends around the mountain and continues along the Nopparat Thara beach, so it's easy to find this beach.
