Wat Cha Am - Cave temple near Cha Am and a dog
I love all sorts of unusual temples associated with both natural wonders and the work of human hands. Something like that, I've already seen in Chiang Mai (Tunnel Temple Wat Umong), but there it was still not a cave, but more tunnels built on purpose from scratch. Wat Cha Am is located right in the mountain. Yes, it is not very big, and the cave is also very small, but passing by, I advise you to look.
There are several attractions in this area, which I already wrote about: Mountain bats, Great Eeyore and Black Woman<.htmla>. Therefore, you can not just go to one cave temple, but immediately make a route for yourself for the whole day.
If you want to visit this place, you can stay in Hua Hin, for example, budget hotel, where we stayed. Alternatively, search more hotels in Hua Hin by this link.
But if you are not hunting from Hua Hin, but, on the contrary, you want to spend time in Cha Am, then you can look for a hotel on RoomGuru.
Cave temple Wat Cha Am
The territory of the temple is not very large and in its center there is a rock, the very one for which we came here, it is in it that the cave is located. Yes, of course, the main building where the services are held is located below, and this is rather a tribute to tradition. There are several old Buddha statues in the cave, one of them is the Reclining Buddha, metro six in length.
A staircase leads to the very top, where the cave temple is located, it consists of two caves in total. You can go back down the same way, or from the other side. In fact, we go through this rock through and through, if we do not return back. Beautiful views, a real mountain - all this is pleasing to the eye. Only one thing was upsetting - the dogs! Maybe we were the ones who were unlucky, but they really barked and almost rushed. And there are too many of them, too much. True, it was only at the bottom, none of them wanted to go up the stairs. We went back down and started again. Fortunately, the car was not far from the stairs, and the monks shouted at them listlessly, so it is not entirely clear whether there was a real danger or not. In general, we climbed the rock, but we didn't really look at the territory itself, somehow I didn't really want to be in a deafening barking. I hope this is a special case, and the rest will be much more fortunate..
Another disadvantage, in the second cave there is a hole in the ceiling, and it is a matter of time how long this cave will last if it is not patched up. And judging by the pile of crumbling stones, no one is doing this yet. Although it may have been like this for a long time, that's why no one cares.
