What to see and do in Koh Chang - my guide
I have long wanted to write a review article on what to do on Koh Chang, so that everything at once, but in short. And then, lately, my friends have been going there one by one, and it would be much easier to let them read the summary post than to throw a bunch of links. Moreover, there will also be additional information that was not posted on the blog due to the fact that it did not pull on a full article.
The best way to search for hotels in Asia is through an aggregator RoomGuru, it shows prices for hotels at once in all booking systems. Not everyone knows that it is not Booking that is popular in Asia, but Agoda, and this service will show everyone at once.

What to see and do on Koh Chang
Swim on different beaches of Koh Chang
If you really like swimming or sunbathing, then you can change your place of residence almost every day and move from beach to beach in search of the one you like most. Although, in principle, you can not change the hotel, but just ride a bike to different places, or take minibuses under the proud name Taxi that ply around the island. Everything Koh Chang beaches I already described earlier.
Ride a bike around the island
Lovers of bikes can not explain anything here, they themselves will want to do it. Combines perfectly with the previous paragraph. Yes, there are serpentines and you need to be very careful, and it is even better not to sit down at the bike if you are not confident in your abilities, but this is probably one of the most memorable impressions from the island, especially from its eastern part. There, in the very south, there are almost deserted places: Long Beach, a memorial, a hotel on the water. And just to the eastern part without a bike it is more difficult to get there, taxis do not really go there.. How to rent a scooter in Thailand, I already told you too.
Go to the waterfalls
There are many waterfalls on Koh Chang, but most likely it makes no sense to watch them all. You can limit yourself to the most popular Klong Plu Waterfall, you can also swim in it, the bowl is large and deep. Or on Klong Chao Luam in order to visit the real jungle, where a walk through the forest is more memorable than a small river with low cascades. Everything about waterfalls on Koh Chang you can find out from my article.
Ride elephants
Many people want to ride an elephant, if you have not yet ridden, try it. Probably worth it once. On the way to the Klong Plu Waterfall or Klong Chao Luam there will be an elephant farm and you will be happy to ride. I also met another farm about in the middle of the Kae Bay beach. I myself did not ride elephants on Koh Chang, it was enough in Pai ride, it's not much different.
Play paintball
Somewhere between the elephants and the Klong Plu waterfall, there is a paintball court. It is denoted by a modest paintball player standing by the road..
Go to the observation deck
You will most likely be rolling around the island and one day heading towards Lonely Beach. On the way, you will stumble upon an observation deck, it is difficult not to notice it. Just right after the Kai Bay beach, a steep climb begins, and almost at the very top there will be a wonderful ennobled platform, from where you can see the Gulf of Thailand and the nearest small island, which can be reached by kayak. It is good to meet the sunset on this site, beautiful.
There are other observation points, but they are less popular, and some of them are not equipped sites, but simply spontaneous viewpoints. For example, a good view opens right before the descent to the White Sand beach (if you go from the pier), this is the side of the right in the direction of travel.
Kayak to neighboring islands
In the paragraph above, I already wrote about kayaks. At the end of the Kai Bay beach (if you go from the ferry pier) opposite 7/11 there is a turn to the beach, and there is a kayak rental point, the price is very small, 300 baht from a boat for half a day. There are 4 islands in the immediate reach, one larger and 3 very small ones. By and large, there is nothing special to do on them, but the point is in the process itself and in reaching one point or another. The big island (Koh Man Nai) has a beach where you can swim and the farthest small island (Koh Yuak) also has a beach.
You can also swim on kayaks on the eastern side of the island, at the very end, behind Long Beach, costing 300 baht for the whole day. There is a cafe called Dead end, where kayaks are rented..
Climb the rope park
Probably for me this is one of the most interesting events in Koh Chang. I can’t say that it’s super extreme, but for those who have never tried it, this is it. The park is small, the whole climbing will take about an hour and a half, first you climb over various obstacles, and then whistle on the zip-line. Read more about the park in my article - Rope park on Koh Chang.
Visit Bang Bao Fishing Village
Just after the rope park, you can see the fishing village of Bang Bao, very close there. In fact, there is nothing special to see there (pier, lighthouse and houses), rather you can go there to eat. Quite a large selection of all kinds of marine life, just walk along the pier and look right / left, choosing which cafe you like best.
View fire show
The fire show takes place in the evenings, somewhere around 20-21. It is not very long, but, as a rule, you still sit in a cafe in the evening, so this is as an addition. On the White Sand Garden beach, it takes place in a cafe ... but I don't know how on other beaches. It seems that there is also Lonely Beach.
Buy excursion
Well, and the very last thing is to buy a tour (although maybe the first one for someone). Basically, they offer trips to different islands in order to swim on different beaches, admire wildlife and snorkel (snorkel) in places where there are corals and fish. Sea excursions are similar to each other, but I recommend sailing to Koh Kood or Koh Mak (or both) if you like such boat trips along the beaches. On Koh Kuda, there are really snow-white beaches and in general it is very beautiful.
In terms of excursions, there are also proposals for active travelers, such as trekking in the jungle and mountain biking.
Map of Koh Chang with labels
Well, and to make it easier for you to navigate in the place, here's a map with my marks. Everything that I found interesting on the island is marked there. And paper maps and other google maps can be found here - Koh Chang maps.
