Why is it worth leaving to live in a village and an ecovillage
We have been living in the house of our friends for a week now. Guys, thank you very much for this opportunity! About itself Ecosettlement Glorious I already wrote last summer. Then we spent several days here as a guest and lived in a tent. Now we actually taste everyday life of an ordinary settler in full. Of course, winter would be even cooler, but spring is also good for diving. It's funny, we have known all this in theory for a very long time, since we ourselves wanted to leave to live in the village and read a lot on this topic, but we didn't really succeed in trying it on..

A wooden house is a dream!
For a long time, my parents' apartment in the apartment was made of burnt wood and I really liked it. It is a pity that they removed and made a modern one with wallpaper and a wardrobe. In my apartment, I thought about sheathing everything with wood, but then I gave up on this idea. So a wooden house is a dream for me! Light, comfortable, breathing better, the house is like living, with its own atmosphere. I perfectly understand those who change a concrete box for a wooden dwelling. And this house also has no internal walls and it is small in area, but we concluded for ourselves that there somehow seems to be even more space than in our apartment, although it is a little larger. Moreover, the entire plot can be used here for the child's games, things can be stored in the shed, go to the bathhouse to wash, and no one else bothers to build a small guest house, workshop, office, etc. separately. Opportunities to expand the sea space!
By the way, I never thought that it is so important that there should be a lot of natural light inside the living space. Combined with the sun's rays, this gives just some kind of burst of mood! If we continue to live in South Butovo (the best area, yes!), Then we still need to change the apartment to a lighter one, we will stop moping at once :)
View from the window
When we went to bed on the first night, we saw from the window starry sky, it was so unusual! The last time I saw the stars in Moscow a long time ago ... And in the daytime in the same window there was not a traffic jam of buzzing cars, but a field and a forest. You go out into the street, and there the birds are singing, butterflies are flying, the trees are rustling. We are probably some kind of nature-oriented people, but it seems to me that it's so simple, he left Moscow for the countryside, and immediately raised his standard of living. Of course, in some ways there will be a fall, but here you have to weigh the pros and cons, everyone has their own view of this.
On the question of changing the apartment, not only should there be light in the dwelling, but also a pleasant view from the window is needed! I remember once I laid out views from the window of our apartment.
The walks are getting easier
It became much easier to go out into the street, put on galoshes, and you are already in the fresh air, you don't need to change clothes, or climb stairs with elevators. In addition, in fact, almost immediately through the threshold in nature, you find yourself, to which in Butovo we have to cut for about 15 minutes. And if you forgot something at home, then 5 seconds and you are back at home. Bliss! It is so convenient when there is a small child..
Yes, when we first arrived, there was slush and mud on the site, you can't really walk along it, although you can go to the main road, it is gravel. The snow melted in a week and everything dried up pretty quickly, so I think it's only a couple of months out of the year so dirty. Well, and no one bothers to pave the paths sooner or later. I almost forgot, the snow in the spring turns out to be white, and not gray / brown / black.
Pure ether
The plots in the ecovillage are somewhere between 1-3 hectares, therefore, the crowding, as in the dacha 6 acres, is not felt at all. The gaze rests on the forest on the horizon, and the silence is broken only occasionally by the generator of neighbors somewhere in the distance and the noise of aircraft in the sky. And the ether is so pure that the soul rests to the fullest. Here all those who are tired of the hustle and bustle will understand me. I went here the other day to Moscow for things, and even after just a week of living in the wilderness, the contrast is already so strongly felt: everyone is running somewhere, cars are scurrying in all directions, around signs and advertising. And what do people who have not been in the city for years feel, how do they feel?
Lack of centralized communications
Honestly, I can't count this as a plus, because only the visual aesthetics are improving, there are no poles on the street, there are no gas pipes, as in the villages. But there is still a certain positive effect, and it lies in the fact that you see how much water is leaving, how much waste you produce, how electricity is spent, and so on. That is, you see with your own eyes how much you consume. Therefore, if you are worried about this topic, then you want it or not, you will think about ecology and saving resources. In principle, such a contingent is selected here, they don’t come here for comfort, well, or, at least, they don’t put it in first place..
I also liked the separation of garbage - cardboard and paper in the stove, organic matter in the beds, plastic back to the city or to the fire. I was surprised that with such layouts, there were 2-3 times less garbage bags to choose from.
Own food
Most of them move to ecovillages in order to grow their own food. It's no secret that it is almost impossible to buy normal vegetables and fruits, as well as dairy products in ordinary supermarkets in Moscow. Some of our friends buy such food from farmers or on special bio-sites. The prices are sky-high, but it's probably worth it. And as an alternative - your own plot, your garden, your own farm.
I'm not a summer resident and a farmer, but I love to eat. Now we buy milk, cottage cheese, eggs from people who live nearby, that is, tested and confused on eco (what is the difference between an ecovillage and an ordinary village). Sane prices, much cheaper than any «bio», it is not known from whom. True, you can't wait for meat, most are vegetarians.
Until recently, someone wrote to me that he cannot live in the village because of the smell of cattle, so in settlements this is unlikely to happen, because usually only a few families keep animals, and the plots, as I said are large, the smell does not won't come.
conclusions
The conclusion is simple - we liked it :)
Yes, here the house was not at all tailored for a little falling boy who loves to touch everything and climb everywhere, but we still liked living here. Now I'm trying to make a list of things that make life easier for parents, that is, for us, in order to clearly understand what exactly in our apartment we did for convenience, so that later it could be recreated anywhere. Of course, while in our case, puzzle mats on the floor play an important role, but we need to understand what else. And, by the way, it would be great to come up with some kind of mobile structure so that you can close all the interesting things below quickly and efficiently.
P.S. In the next article read about specific living conditions in the house…. No centralized communications, solid alternative energy.
