Beach description
The beach is located just west of the noisy Patong and skirts the northern part of the forested cape. Freedom Beach has become famous lately, and not surprisingly.
It is beautiful, with fine white sand, which is naturally very popular with people, but you will not find peace and solitude here. If you want to be here with a minimum number of people, then you need to arrive early in the morning so that by 10-11 o'clock you can sail away, because at this time boats with people begin to swim up and it becomes very crowded.
I read some descriptions of Freedom on the network, where it was said that it is divided into several parts - all this is far-fetched, the beach is not divided in any way, just its central part is occupied by boats, so people swim along the edges of the beach, where there are no boats.
It can be noted that on the right there is a small section of the beach 20 meters long, and yes, it is separated from the main beach by stones. If you are on the main beach, then you can get to this small one either knee-deep in water (or climbing over stones), or along a path through the forest, but there is a hill, so you have to strain a little.
Entering the water, depth and waves
The shore goes under water with optimal depth for those who like swimming - after 10 meters even at low tide it will be neck-deep, so you will have to walk even less at high tide. Freedom is neither shallow nor deep - he is awesome. Thirty meters wide, made of white sand that reflects the sun's rays under water and gives the sea an indescribably pure and stunning color.
The tides change the beach only slightly, but the waves do happen regularly. Although in most cases, Freedom is a calm and beautiful beach.
Sun beds and shade
The left side of the beach belongs to the restaurant complex and it has occupied the entire shadow. In the place where the palm trees begin and you can hide from the heat, from the sun, there are sun loungers that you can rent for the whole day for 120 baht. The rest of Freedom belongs to savage tourists who bring rugs and umbrellas with them, unless they plan to lie under the shade of trees on the shore.

On the beach itself there is no special entertainment - massage, kitchen, drinks and sun loungers. Except, perhaps, swimming and snorkeling (there are coral reefs off the coast). For lovers of a beautiful panorama on the beach, there is a stone staircase leading to the nearest hill - a kind of observation deck with a view of the sea and the beach.

How to find the beach
Freedom Beach can only be reached in two ways: by boat or on foot from the parking lot. Boats run from Patong, Kata and Karon, and you'd better come to the piers no later than 9 a.m. to make the boat cheaper, and ideally share it with someone else..
If you are traveling in a large company, then there are no problems at all. The price for a boat in both directions is 1500 baht, but then how to agree. For example, I managed to bargain up to 1300 per boat, but boatmen are usually very reluctant to dump.
The cheaper way (though it is a little more difficult) is to get to the beach on foot. Access to the beach by land is paid, 200 baht, open from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. Passage means downhill, because the road on which you arrive to the parking lot by car or bike is high above the beach.
There are two entrances: in the center and on the right side, if you stand facing the sea.

If you want to get to the central passage, then you need to go along the highway from Patong to Karon, and turning off the main road onto the dirt road, go up to the right. On the way there will be closed gates and no guards, I guess it is here that those who need free of charge try to get through.
From the central entrance to the beach, the descent takes 10 minutes, because there is a path through the jungle, almost cut through the forest.

If you want to get to the right entrance, then you need, without leaving the main highway, move along the Patong embankment and further along the coastline almost to the TriTrang beach.
Before reaching Tritrang you need to turn left to the hotel Avista hideaway (it is on my map), a primer will start about. The dirt road here is very good and short, I recommend going to this very entrance. Tuk-tuk is also brought here.
The path from the legal entrance to the beach is a civilized concrete staircase. As a result, it leaves faster than through the main entrance, you can go down in general in about five minutes. And this path is much more convenient, because you are walking up the stairs, and it is difficult to twist your leg or something. And it's more convenient to climb back up the stairs too.

I would like to draw your attention to this moment. You shouldn't go from the central entrance to the right one, or vice versa. The fact is that the section of the road between these two entrances is very bad and it is very difficult to pass it on a bike. I did this to check everything, but I do not advise anyone to repeat it, because there are large stones, a lot of debris, a narrow path and, apparently, due to the rains, it was also washed out, so deep holes.
This is still far from the worst site.
There are some horror stories on the network that they are not allowed to go to the beach across the land, everything is covered with barbed wire, that there are some people who are almost attacking people - do not read! Outdated, nothing like that. There are 2 entrances to the beach, everything is organized and official, this land belongs to individuals, so they take money for going through their land.
Again, they invested their money in the same concrete staircase, made it more convenient for people. I believe that this is the normal state of affairs, and there are no problems with the passage. You arrive, park like a human, pay money and calmly walk to the beach.
Perhaps somewhere there are some wild and free passes, but I do not know about them, because from the point of view of recreation, the beach is needed for a good mood and relaxation, and I see no reason to try to climb somewhere through the bushes. Moreover, it's not close to go through the jungle, it's easier for me to pay and go up the stairs.
