Gebius (Tesheb) waterfalls - photos and how to get there
One of the popular places where vacationers come from Gelendzhik are Gebius waterfalls. In principle, you can come from a more distant resort, but you should not expect something special from this attraction. On the other hand, the waterfalls in the Gelendzhi region can be counted on one hand, but there are no high ones at all, the mountains are quite small. Therefore, a trip to the waterfalls should rather be considered simply as a pleasant walk through the forest, as a rest from the heat by the river and closer to nature..

Gebius waterfalls
Gebius waterfalls have this name because of Mount Gebius. They are also called Teshebsky, because the village of Teshebs is nearby, and Bigius, because in the Turkic language (like) the top of the mountain will sound like Bigius.
All similar sights in our south are made in about the same way - a booth with extortions at the very beginning, and a refined path that goes through the forest to a point of interest, be it a waterfall or a dolmen. As a rule, they just see that people come to a certain place, rent this land, and begin to take money for the entrance, without doing anything special. At best, they collect trash and make some dangerous sections of the trail a little safer. Everything is the same here. First, you will pass the souvenir shops (they are closer to the entrance), then along the way you will meet various bridges across the river bed and the route ends with a large area with a cafe, a farm with smelling ostriches and shops with regular souvenirs. The first Gebiussky waterfall is also located here..
A wobbly staircase leads up to the waterfall, the structure, even with the naked eye, is so-so in terms of safety. I don’t remember, they take money for the entrance and cannot make a normal and safe staircase? Business in Russian again? But apparently, someone has already fallen, so there is an announcement that you cannot climb more than 10 people at once. Yeah, even so, took off responsibility, well done.
After climbing, you can go further, since there are still a couple of waterfalls, but most people limit themselves to the first and, in principle, this is normal. I also decided not to walk, because I had already repeatedly walked along similar channels, for example, along river Janet, and imagine what awaits me there. Moreover, there was very little water in the river (the rains had passed for a long time), and there was no point in looking at the waterfalls this time.
Please note that if you came here in beach slippers and are not inclined to long walks, and also do not like any kind of coverage, except asphalt, then you should not go further than the 1st waterfall. You are unlikely to enjoy walking along the riverbed, on wet stones, periodically jumping from stone to stone. I would say that even this very shaky fire ladder is not worth climbing if you are not going further..

Entrance fee: 200 rubles per adult, 150 rubles per child. If you come in the evening or early-early in the morning, then usually there is no one at the box office and you can go for free.
The entrance to the trail is located directly on the Gelendzhik-Dzhubga highway near a large white sign «Gelendzhik», it is simply impossible to miss it. Walk along the path for about 30 minutes at a leisurely pace to the 1st waterfall. There are no abrupt ups and downs, so the walk is suitable for anyone who has no physical health problems. There are reviews on the Internet that the path is quite difficult, but if a person is so homely, then he really should not go to the forest.

P.S. I was at Gebius Falls in October, a great time, almost no one is there. True, there was little rain, so there was little water in the river and waterfalls. It is advisable to come in spring or summer immediately after a good rain, it will be more spectacular.
