Our apartment The Clover Thonglor in an upscale area of Bangkok

From fresh memory, while not much time has passed, I will quickly post a post about our apartment in Bangkok, where we lived for a whole month not far from the Samitivej Sukhumvit hospital, where we went to periodic appointments with doctors. The apartment is good, but it’s a pity, of course, that it’s not on 29th floor, like before.

I caught myself thinking that I really do not have enough such housing, so that, with my small but beautiful territory, where you can walk and swim all year round, and what is no less important for me - the look rejoices every time when you just pass by, for example, to take out the trash.

Price and booking

At Thonglor Apartment, we paid 28,000 baht a month. Plus water at 20 baht / unit, electricity at the state tariff 4.5 baht / unit. Deposit 56 thousand baht (2 months). On departure, they also paid 1200 baht for cleaning and washing. As you can see, it's not cheap. More precisely, a cheap price only for electricity, without wrapping.

But in this area, it is the cheapest we could find. We walked, walked all day to all apartments and everywhere 40-60-80 thousand baht per month for apartments. True, all apartments have 2-3-4 bedrooms. As we understand it, the area is just where there is no cheap housing. Moreover, we only needed a month, and in 99% of cases a contract for 1 year at least!

Be sure (and I insist) to check for discounts or special offers on the excellent Roomguru service. He will quickly and easily show you discounts in all existing booking systems. In Asia, for example, there are a lot of offers on Agoda.com, which are much more interesting than for exactly the same hotels on Booking.com.

For example, here is a direct link to the hotel: Thonglor Apartment

To rent an apartment in The Clover, you need to go to the condominium office and ask if there are any vacant apartments. As a rule, only a few pieces can be handed over for a short period (agreements with the owners), the rest only for a long time. The manager's girl's name is Pim, contacts are below.

Interior

The interior decoration of all one-bedroom apartments in this building is similar. Living room with sofa, TV, dining table and kitchen, and a separate bedroom with bed, wardrobe and bathroom. The design is also similar, since such apartments are often sold with a minimum set of furniture..

For some reason, we had two sofas, but Yegor really liked to crawl on them, so we were only happy about this oddity, after an illness he needed to move as much as possible.

Kitchen with a two-plate stove, microwave oven, kettle, large refrigerator and a minimum set of dishes. Our multicooker was brought from Russia. There is a washing machine on the balcony. There is a bathroom in the bathroom, which is not common. In general, everything is enough to live there with a family and a child. We didn't complain. Although, if I lived there not for a month, but for a year, then I would have chosen another area and other apartments.

Well, now about the cons. There were a lot of mosquitoes, and there were no mosquito nets on the windows. So we had to run the air conditioner almost constantly and we used 2,000 baht of electricity. It's good that we asked them to wash right after the entrance (500 baht for 1 condo), otherwise we would have to breathe with what is in them for many years. Few Thais bother washing kondeis, keep that in mind!

The second disadvantage is that there is no Wifi in the apartment. I don't know why the hostess decided not to connect it, because everyone needs it now. Perhaps her apartment is not rented out all the time, and she would have to pay for the Internet (annual contracts). Here's another problem for you not long stays in one place, because living at least half a year or a year, one could have the Internet.

Yes, in the office of the condominium there was Wifi and sofas on which to work, but there was a terrible blowing of air condos and in general people were constantly walking around, so it was a stretch to work. As a result, I bought a repeater and we caught this Internet in our apartment, since the distance allowed. True, I had to throw an extension cord from the outlet to the repeater across the entire corridor.

Well, and the last nuance - the laminate is only in the bedroom. To be honest, the tiles are already infuriating in the dwelling, because they are hard and slippery, which makes the crawling boy inconvenient (Egor does not walk with us yet). But these are the realities of Thailand, there are a lot of tiled floors. Again, if you live for a long time, you can get confused and find housing for all our requirements, but for a month it is much more difficult to do it..

Exterior

As I already wrote at the very beginning of the post, the territory of the apartments is what I miss so much in Russian apartments or when renting a house in Thailand. No, I'm not a fan of swimming pools, and there were two of them here (and quite long ones), but it's really nice to look at this whole cute courtyard with water, skymakes and green spaces.

A bit like resorts, where there are also ennobled territories, and in fact you pay not only for the hotel room itself, but also for the beauty to surround you. So here too - the eye rejoices. Well, of course, I personally like the presence of a gym. Even if it is small and with an insufficient set of simulators for serious training, but it is just right for me.

It is much easier to force yourself to run on a treadmill or stretch dumbbells when you walk for a couple of minutes before them, and not get dressed and go somewhere to fitness.
