Buddha park Sala Keoku - imagination
Sala Keoku is a fantastic Buddha park located near the city Nong Khai. Another similar park, created by the same architect (Bunlya Sulilat), is located in Laos, across the Mekong River.
On the Internet, they write that the Sala Keoku park was the second in a row, and was allegedly made just before its creator went crazy. I'm not sure that this is exactly the case, because, although all the sculptures are unusual for traditional Buddhism, they clearly do not look like any surrealism of the same Salvador Dali, who definitely had a problem with his head..

To be honest, they expected more, they thought that there was a man's imagination. However, it is worth seeing, much more interesting than an ordinary typical Thai temple. And the blessing is very easy to get to, only 3-4 km from the city center. We went on bicycles like that, the road took about 20 minutes. The cost of visiting for foreigners is 20 baht (20 rubles), very dear, isn't it?
On the territory of the Sala Keoku park, you will see various sculptures of Buddhas and other characters, in different poses, in different scenes. It is likely that a visit to the park with a guide will be much more interesting, since he will be able to tell the whole elusive meaning of a particular composition, which is absolutely impossible to guess intuitively..
Only the meaning of one of the compositions we understood ourselves. We called it the circle of life - the figures placed in a circle most likely mean the cycle of human life. Let me explain:
1. Once upon a time there were two different-sex Thai pioneers, but European appearance
2. Have reached sexual age
3. Altar, end of bachelorhood
4. A careless daughter was born
5. An old man with an old woman at a broken trough, live only on donation box
6. End, sarcophagus
There is also an outer circle, and there are probably other turns of this happy story, so to speak, parallel universes.
Half of the sculptures in Sala Keoku Park are somehow not Buddhist bloodthirsty. Either a sword in hand, now an ax or an ax, or even a severed head. To make it mean?
Most of the Sala Keoku Park is filled with concrete and some of the plants are in tubs. This is the Thais' idea of beauty.
Be sure to take your children with you, or someone who remotely resembles them (for example, a wife). Indeed, in the center of Sala Keoku Park there is a pond in which catfish and carp are bred. And, accordingly, they can be fed for 10 baht, and get a lot of puppy delights. By the way, if you feed the fish not from the pier, but from the shore, then you have a chance to stroke it. Feels like a wet porcini mushroom cap.
