Laem Nan Beach can be called a Samui paddling pool. Firstly, there is a shallow sea with a sandy entrance, ideal for children, and secondly, this beach was chosen by the French farangi. Laem Nan is located to the north Lamai, between Lamai and Tongtakian, starting and ending with large round rocks typical of the east coast of Koh Samui. In its landscapes and the state of the seabed, Laem Nan is very similar to the northern part Chaweng.

Exactly the same fine, light yellow with brown sand, interspersed with seashells. Exactly the same accumulation of silt and stones under water, and a very similar desertion and unpopularity of the beach, due to its characteristics. Due to its short length (about 700 meters) and isolation, almost the entire coastline, geographically, belongs to one of several hotels.
Therefore, the cleanliness of the beach is ideal, and garbage appears on the shore only at low tide, and during strong waves during the rainy season. In case anyone is interested in reading about other places, I have a short overview of all the beaches of Koh Samui, will help you decide on the choice of the beach.
Entering the water, depth and waves
The sea on Laem Nan from the water's edge and 500 meters from the coast is very shallow, so the ebb and flow on the flat coast is very noticeable. At high tide, the water leaves a couple of meters of sand from the shore for sun loungers and umbrellas.
And when the water is high, swimming with children is more pleasant, due to the fact that the sandy beach temporarily becomes a sandy bottom. And with the beginning of low tide, it recedes by 10-30 meters at different parts of the beach and approaches the border of stones and silt deposits at the bottom.
Here you will have to rearrange your legs carefully, choosing a place where to take the next step. There is a long way to go to deep water, so it is better to wear swimming slippers. With the waves, things are much more pleasant than in the deep-water neighboring Lamai. Shallow water on Laem Nan usually dampens large waves and the sea can be unbreakable only with very strong winds in the off-season.
Sun beds and shade
Laem Nan Beach has a small width and sparse vegetation along the sea. High water allows you to leave a couple of rows of sun loungers on the shore. Only part of the guests go out for a swim in the shallow sea and take a walk, while the rest prefer to stay by the pool, enjoying a beautiful view from under the shade of umbrellas.
On the beach itself there are palms and several deciduous trees, some of them so large that a company of soldiers with a field kitchen can be placed in their shade. In the south of the beach there is one of these giant trees, under which a rock is hidden, a favorite place for older children to play pirates..
The area of Koh Samui around Laem Nan beach is the outskirts of Lamai. To be more precise, the exit towards Lam Nan is located near the IT Center on Lamae. On the ring road there is a Family Market mini-market, a real estate agency, several more commercial organizations and shops. Literally after three hundred meters, the ascent of the Ring Road begins uphill, which leads to the side Chaweng past a small number of hotels. The whole cluster of basic amenities, shops, services and services is located on Lamai itself.
Laem Nan is built up with luxury hotels and expensive villas, so all services are offered to guests in the complex and are included in the rental price. Usually only clients of nearby hotels and curious travelers on motorbikes come to the beach. Fun on Laem Nan is the hotel's high-priced beachfront restaurant, the renowned private restaurant Uncle Rang, and kayak rentals.
Nearby, on Lamai, there are children's entertainment centers on Lamai: Dino Park and Aquapark The nearest Tesco Lotus hypermarket on Lamai is ten minutes away by car, even taking into account Lamai traffic jams. It takes about forty minutes to get to the airport. Near Laem Nan are all the attractions of Lamai:
- Overlap Stone;
- Grandma and Grandpa Stones (Hin Ta Hin Yai);

- Elephant Rock;
- Lamai Cultural Center.

How to find the beach
The main landmark in order not to miss the turn to Laem Nan is IT Complex Samui. If you move from Chaweng to the side Lamai, then when you go down the last hill of the pass and come out of the big turn of the ring road, carefully look at the left side. 50 m after the IT Complex there will be a secondary road towards the sea.
Continue straight ahead to the beautiful Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa, and a hundred meters after it there will be an intersection where you need to turn right. This path will end with a parking lot for five cars, after which you will have to walk to the beach.
