Pan Beach in Krabi - long and absolutely wild

A deserted and deserted beach, a great place for relaxation and contemplation. All the beauty of wild pristine nature and just 10 km from Ao Nang. True, there is no tourist infrastructure here either, with the exception of a few hotels with bamboo huts..

Beach description

This beach is bordered in the east by Nopparat Thara beach, but separated from it by the river. Three beaches - Ao Nang, Nopparat Thara and Pan Beach divide a large arc of the bay into about three parts. Pan Beach is the most deserted and secluded of all three of the above beaches. There is practically nothing on it.

Well, okay, a couple of houses and a few simple bungalow hotels. But that's all. Only fishing boats, an excellent view of the islands in the distance and the cliffs of the coast, light sand and casuarine trees, at times interspersed with palm trees and other vegetation.

It's very deserted and quiet here. In the morning and in the evening, no one at all. On the western side, the beach ends with a river flowing into the sea (or a bay), on the east of Nopparat Tara it is also separated by a river, next to which small cliffs overgrown with bushes stick out of the water.

Entering the water, depth and waves

Entering the water on the beach is very long and shallow. Far, far away, the sea remains knee deep. Which, in principle, can be convenient for swimming if you don't like jumping in the waves. Here, as well as on neighboring beaches, ebb tides are strongly expressed, during which the sea leaves the coast for such a long distance that deep water from the coast becomes practically unattainable..

At such a time, you can see the bare bottom - even, without large stones and all dug up by crabs. The sand on the beach is light, grayish, there is some silt at the bottom near the coast.

Sun beds and shade

There are no sun loungers with umbrellas for rent on the beach, nothing at all except sand. But along the entire beach there are trees, including sprawling tall casuarins, which provide shade well. In this natural shade, you can hide from the sun during the day. In the morning, the entire beach strip is shaded by trees. Sun loungers can only be found near resorts.

Infrastructure

There is nothing at all on the beach. Only the sea, sand and trees. Yes, a few simple bungalow hotels. But no more infrastructure. So if you go there, you need to take water with you and something to eat..

Houses and hotels on the beach

This beach is mainly occupied by hotels with accommodation in bungalows. The names speak for themselves: Pan Beach Bungalow, Sand Beach Bungalow, J2B Beach Bungalows. Moreover, these are very simple huts, not expensive beach resorts or luxury hotel complexes..

In Asia, for example, there are a lot of offers on Agoda.com, which are much more interesting than for exactly the same hotels on Booking.com.

How to find the beach

You can get to the beach either by taxi or by your own transport. From Ao Nang, follow the same road that leads to the beach and the village of Klong Muang. For example, like this: first you need to go along the Ao Nang embankment towards Nopparat Tara beach, then along Nopparat Tara, then the road goes inland from the sea, to the right.

Then follow the signs to go to Klong muang. After the bridge over the river, turn left onto road 6024. From road 6024 there will also be a turn left, onto a small forest road. It will be about 10 km from Ao Nang.

The turn is inconspicuous, there is only a house by the road on the left and the road goes into the forest. Further, this narrow road winds through the forest and leads to a fork. It is better to go to the right - further the road goes along the beach, and there will be bungalow hotels on the left. Where the Pan Bungalows is located, there is an exit directly to the beach. This will be about the middle of it..
