In Belaya Kalitva, I realized one very interesting thing - the perception of a city or any landmark largely depends on who meets you in this place, who shows him, as well as on the attitude of this person to his native land, at least on the first impression is definitely affected. Of course, to dive deeply, you need to stop being a tourist and live here for a long time, but our main goal was to get to know those people who care and who love the piece of land where they were born..
Honestly, a week ago Belaya Kalitva was for me only a point on the map, I did not know anything about this city and about the people living in it. It is not always possible to guess to enter a province if there is no well-known sight there. But I am very glad that Alexander Zabrodin invited us and was our guide for several days, during which we managed to plunge into the atmosphere of a provincial town, imbued with the spirit of freedom and Cossacks, and once again feel the natural beauty of our country.
The route of our trip and its concept can be seen here: We are participating in the project «Russia in 365 days»
I am sure that each city has its own entertaining history, stories, legends, significant places both inside and in the vicinity. You just need someone to take up this business and organize sightseeing tours, promoting your city on the tourism and recreation market. Thus, you can create your favorite business and popularize your hometown or village. My mother recently wrote about this, having traveled to Myshkin town, and impressed with how «muskians» make the most of their brand.

People of Belaya Kalitva
Alexander Zabrodin is a master of sports, mountaineering coach at the Olympic reserve school and a loving husband. He made about 360 ascents, on Elbrus alone he was 33 times, now he is preparing for an expedition to Everest. Pupils, many of whom later become masters of sports and champions of Russia, often call him «second dad», since he instills in them life values and teach them to be real men and women. Once Alexander worked in Switzerland, but returned to his hometown, and now he does not even think to leave here. Alexander has been and continues to be engaged in projects related to tourism and recreation in the vicinity of Belaya Kalitva. Sasha, if you are reading these lines, thank you and Svetlana again for such a warm welcome. Despite the fact that you refused to talk about yourself, we still managed to get some information out of you during these days 🙂

Ivan Ivanovich Kolodkin is a colorful person and a bright representative of the Don Cossacks, an Old Believer, local historian and historian. Although not everyone agrees with the last title, saying that he invented a lot of things himself. We listened to his stories for several hours, enjoying the old words and phrases that have already dropped out of our language. And whoever said what, but Ivan Ivanovich seemed to us a kind-hearted person who lives by conscience.

There is still hope
With each new acquaintance, there is more and more confidence in the future and that there is still hope. The problem is not in officials, not in bad government, but in ourselves. You need to change your mentality, not make revolutions. It is ordinary people who bring up the new generation, serve as an example for them. And then our children become those very presidents, governors, influential businessmen. We ourselves can change this world, now ...
In the following articles I will tell you about myself the city of Belaya Kalitva, and about him neighborhood.
