In pursuit of previous post about China, decided to make another similar post, but about the prices in Hong Kong, so that you can ask the price of food in the supermarket in advance. As you know, Hong Kong is not cheap at all, and not everyone can afford to eat in cafes all the time. Yes, there are inexpensive cafes there, but you have to look for them, and it will be some kind of noodles. And, for example, we bought a large piece of pizza (but not the whole pizza) somehow in the city center for 100 HKD. At the time of publication of the article, it is 750 rubles (1 HKD = 7.5 rubles). Not weak, yeah?
Therefore, in my opinion, in Hong Kong it is very important rent an apartment with a kitchen and cook yourself.
Hong Kong supermarket food prices
Everything would be good in terms of self-cooking, but in Hong Kong there is a problem finding a supermarket. Well, the way we are used to. We lived near the Wan Chai metro (almost the very center) and next to it, except for 7-11 there was nothing. I tried to find it through Google Maps, looked on the forums, and according to this information there were literally 1-2 stores near us, but their assortment left much to be desired, rather it is an extended version of 7-11, and not a supermarket, we could not even buy rice. Usually it is advised to look for Wellcome or ParkNShop, but we accidentally found another supermarket - Kai Bo Food (10 minutes from our apartment), and we bought there.
Unlike Hainan, there is quite a choice here. «European» food. Although, again, I did not see a variety of bakery products, cheeses, dairy products. Maybe there are big supermarkets and they have everything, but there was nothing big next to us. But it's great that a lot of things are signed in English..
There was also a market near the house, but the prices were there ... It was enough to ask the price of a mango and somehow he got sick of it right away.

P.S. By the way, on the market everything is sold not only by the piece, but also by weight, only another measure is used - pound (pounds), and not kilograms (1 pound = 0.45 kg). Not very comfortable.
