Lamai Coconut Beach Resort is probably the best out of 5 hotels in Koh Samui where I lived. For me it has become value for money. I hope the hotel will not lower the bar and will continue to remain not only very well located, but also to update the rooms on time. And then you know how it happens, while the hotel is new, everything is fine, but then it gets old, but the owner is in no hurry to make repairs.

At Lamai Coconut Beach Resort, I took the cheapest Superior Garden View room for 2000 baht.
Honestly, I wanted a view of the pool to have a nicer view from the window, it costs only 250 baht more, but it was no longer available, I booked everything for the day. Apparently the hotel is popular and it is better to do everything in advance.

There is also an option for accommodation in bungalows, but I have already made a fortune in them and I wanted to be in a regular hotel room. The hotel corresponds to its rating of 8.6 and 3 stars, no lie. I think that 2,000 baht is just a gift and I can safely recommend you if you stay at Lamai Beach. I immediately remember Phangan, where for this amount it is quite difficult to find something really decent and not tired.
The tale is straight, not a number. Maybe, of course, in contrast to Phangan, I was so impressed, but before that I had already stayed on Koh Samui and there were worse rooms in other hotels. In general, in my opinion, the price-quality ratio.
As I said, the rooms are all more or less the same kind. From my balcony, the pool was eventually visible, it's good that I didn't pay more. In fact, the windows of all rooms look in one direction to the pool and the sea, just from the outermost pool it will be difficult to see. And the sea is visible only from the 3rd and 4th floors (I had a second floor). In general, decide for yourself what kind of view you need from the window..
The room is completely new! And the furniture, and the walls, and the bathroom, everything is in order. The area is large, even more than a couple of people would need. The balcony overlooking the pool and the neighboring resort is equally spacious. In total, 40 meters, probably the area will be.
The room has everything you need. A sofa, a long table and a separate table with a mirror. On the wall hangs a normal TV - flat and large diagonally. New air conditioning, refrigerator, kettle, hairdryer, safe, umbrellas, beach towels, slippers, a couple of free bottles of water and instant coffee.
By the way, the safe is large, you can put away not only documents, but also a laptop, a camera, and the entire city backpack at once. The safe is bolted to the wall. The bathroom has a bath, a shower, and soap accessories. The bed is very wide, at least 2 meters.

Probably the only disadvantage that weighs on me is the Internet. As luck would have it, it's slow. Moreover, the channel is normal, at night and in the morning, when everyone is asleep, everything flies, but during the day everything starts to slow down when everyone starts to connect. Apparently, the Thais set everything up crooked.

The hotel area is quite small, there is nowhere to walk. In fact, the building with the rooms where I lived, a dozen bungalows (including the beachfront), a medium-sized pool and restaurant. But the whole thing is on the first line and you can get to the sea in just a couple of steps. The beach in front of the hotel is one of the best. Therefore, it is better to walk along the beach, and a large hotel area is essentially not needed.
The building has 4 floors, but there is an elevator (!), Which is important for everyone who will live above the second floor, as well as in terms of carrying luggage or a baby carriage.

Breakfast takes place from 7:00 to 10 am 10 meters from the shores of Lamai Beach. If breakfast is not included in the room rate, then it can be bought at the restaurant for 300 baht per person. Accordingly, see for yourself what comes out for the price, how it is more profitable to book, with breakfast immediately or then pay on the spot, the price floats and depends on the dates.
But, although it is convenient, you can not take breakfast at all, for 300 baht it is not a problem to eat anywhere, and the choice in the hotel is average. Buffet, but for some reason there are few hot dishes, literally an omelet, rice noodles with an egg, dumplings with no idea what is inside, boiled rice and boiled vegetables. At the same time, there are quite unusual dishes: baked potatoes (outwardly looked like bread) and onion rings in batter.
Everything else is standard: toast with butter and jam, several types of muesli, fruits and a salad set (not bad, by the way, there are olives and cheese), coffee, tea and juices, muffins and small croissants.
I would do this, if at the time of booking a room with breakfast costs about 600 baht more (just breakfast for two), then I would book a room without it. And then, on the spot, I would decide according to my mood or not to go to breakfast. If the room with breakfast is only a couple of hundred baht more expensive, then I would take it right away with breakfast. Regular American breakfast in a cafe costs about 200-250 baht.

The restaurant where breakfast is served is bordered by a bar / cafe on the beach. More precisely, this is all one place, just breakfast is served under the roof, where there is more space. In my opinion, the location is very good. In addition to being the first line, the hotel is also located at the end of a quiet side street, so it is very peaceful here. But at the same time, it is literally a few minutes to walk to the main street. And there are already 7-eleven, makashnitsy, fruit trays, all cafes and bars, massage. That is, the very center of Lamai is right.

P.S. There is a cheaper hotel nearby, where I also lived - Lamai Buri Resort. True, I liked him less and he is not on the first line. But in general, it can also be considered for living.
