I recently posted a detailed description of that, how to get from Bangkok to Koh Chang, and now I want to write separately about the transfer from Pattaya. If you have not read the link above, then let me remind you that Ko Chang is an island, so you first need to go to it by land, then take a ferry, and on the island itself follow the route to the required beach. Where Pattaya wins over Bangkok is that it is full of transfers to Koh Chang.
There are 3 ways to get to Koh Chang from Pattaya: by transfer, by yourself by bus and by taxi. For reference, the distance between Pattaya and Koh Chang is about 270 km.

How to get from Pattaya to Koh Chang in comfort
Group transfer by minibus
This method is the easiest and most convenient for those without a car. And, to be honest, I would not even consider others, I do not see much point in saving extra 100 rubles. So, what is the good about the transfer? It is also sometimes called a tour, they say tour Pattaya - Koh Chang. And it is good because you will be taken from the hotel to the hotel, that is, from the hotel in Pattaya to the hotel on Koh Chang. Moreover, you can immediately buy a return ticket, and this tour will really work out. The transfer can be bought at any travel agency. The price tag will offer you 600-900 baht one way, including a ferry ticket.
As a rule, all local travel agencies sell the services of several transport companies, so there is not much difference where to buy. You can also buy via the Internet through 12Go, the same will work.
Tickets Pattaya-Koh Chang>
Payment by credit card or PayPal, electronic ticket, very convenient.
The lowest price tag is offered by 35 Group Pattaya. I indicated their office on the map, it is located on Pattaya Tai Street (South Pattaya). The only thing, for this you will need to go to their office, the intermediaries will sell their tickets more expensive.
The minibus will cost 400 baht including a one-way ferry ticket to Koh Chang Ferry Pier. A ticket to the hotel on Koh Chang costs 550 baht one way, including a ferry ticket.
Minibus runs 3 times a day: 7:00, 9:00, 13:00.
Travel time 3-4 hours to the pier, and then how will it be with the ferry.
You need to buy tickets in advance, at least a day in advance, otherwise there may be no seats. You can also go to other places at 35 Group Pattaya. In addition, Koh Chang is carried to Samet, Ko Wai, Ko Mak and Ko Kood.
If you are then going to return to Pattaya from Chang, then buy a return ticket immediately, it is with an open date (you will need to notify about two days before returning), because there is no 35 Group Pattaya office on Koh Chang island, it is located near the pier Koh Chang Ferry Pier is on the mainland, and there will be no places. Accordingly, if you do not buy a return ticket in advance, then you will have to buy transfers on the island from local travel agencies at a higher price..

Taxi Pattaya - Koh Chang
The most expensive option. I think everyone knows how to go by taxi and there is no need to explain anything. Go outside and look for a car. Alternatively, order an individual transfer at any travel agency. The cost is somewhere around 3000-4000 baht per car, if you go to the pier. Travel time 3-4 hours.
Another taxi option is a Kiwitaxi transfer (ferry included), which can be ordered online in advance. The car will be entirely yours, without other passengers. Conveniently, there are no problems, you don't even need to leave the house. For the price it is especially advantageous if you are more than 4 people. Then the sum is divided among all. It costs the same as a taxi caught on the street.

Car rental
My favorite option. Recently, I always and everywhere take a car. Do not depend on anything, complete freedom. Considering that car rental in Tae is inexpensive, it is available to everyone.
You need to rent a car through Economybookings, then the price will be approximately 2 times lower than directly. It is an intermediary broker that issues offers from all international distributors. That is, no small companies and individuals who can then throw.

On Koh Chang, although there are narrow roads in places, it is quite convenient to drive there in a small car, such as a Honda Jazz or Toyota Vios. I traveled all over the island for 2 weeks and no problem.
Bus Pattaya - Koh Chang
The most budgetary way, more complicated and not suitable for everyone. Its essence boils down to the fact that you need to take a bus from Pattaya to the bus station in Trat, change there to a minibus that follows to the pier, then take a ferry and swim to the island, at the pier of the island, take a minibus and get to the desired beach.
How to get from Trat to the pier and how to get around on the island of Koh Chang, I have already written in a general article How to get from Bangkok to Chang. And I described everything about ferries in the article Ferry Trat - Koh Chang. So it remains to tell how to get to Trat from Pattaya.
You need to go to the Sukhumvit highway at the intersection with Central Street and catch a bus there. It is advisable to ask the locals who sit in the offices of bus companies or motorbikes, where is it better to do it and when the bus will be. They will also help to stop him. There is no bus station from where he goes, it runs a couple of times a day, around 6:00 and around 11:30. He is scheduled and picks up everyone on the way. Travel time 5 hours, ticket price about 180 baht.
Also, on this bus you can not reach Trat and get off along the road. There is an office there on the highway, from which minibuses go to the pier. But IMHO it will be difficult for beginners to do this..
Bus station
Bus station
From here you can go to Phuket. There is no bus station as such, but there are stalls of bus companies in various directions.
