Nan Lian Garden - an artificial oasis of aesthetics in the middle of skyscrapers

I continue the theme of city parks, which I like in one way or another. In Moscow it is Tsaritsyn park, in bangkok Lumpini park, and in Hong Kong, Nan Lian Garden. The latter will be discussed today. If you haven't been there go, I recommend, very nice place! Almost in the center and very close to the metro.

I rode with a friend with city beach, which you can also read about (yes, there is also where to swim in Hong Kong), and on the way back we stopped at this park. At first I was worried that I could not make it in the daytime, however, after I started taking pictures, I did not regret at all that I saw it in such a light. Although, of course, I am not objective, because I have not seen the park during daylight hours, and I also gravitate towards night photography and, in particular, starry sky. Illuminated vegetation and stones, lights of skyscrapers in the distance, water surfaces with reflections of lanterns, all this did the trick. So if you like to take pictures, come there in the evening..

The first thing that struck my imagination as a Russian person was the beginning of the park. What is so special about it? It's simple, it is located under the flyover. What do we usually have there? That's right, car parks, car services, trash or void. Hong Kong is cramped, and they cannot afford «fuck up» extra square meter of area. It's funny isn't it.

Nan Lian Garden begins under the flyover

After the flyover, there is a normally ennobled park, where everything is beautiful, neat and well-groomed. Various plants, real stones, benches for rest, ponds, wooden buildings in the Chinese style, paved paths create a pleasant atmosphere in the middle of the metropolis. The park was built in the style of the Tang Dynasty and opened to the public only in 2006. It is felt, of course, that this is not a corner of wilderness, but an artificial creation of man, designed only to change the visual range from city bustle to aesthetics, however, I would not mind going periodically to such parks too.

In addition to walking, there is still a lot to go, but all the pavilions were already closed, only a not quite budget restaurant was open, with water flowing through the windows. Since I am not a fan of sitting in a cafe, I just had to walk and look for camera angles. If you come early, then go to the Museum of Ancient Chinese Architecture, they say it is interesting there.
