Our house in Phuket near Nai Harn beach
Well, the dream has come true! One more ... We are directly implementing them one by one. At first, they wanted to travel often - it was ready, then to spend the winter in warm regions - it was done. Now, behold, we live in a dream house 10 minutes from the sea.
To be honest, at first I was a little against going to Phuket and living in a house. Because costs immediately increase, both for housing and for food. However, as soon as we brought things to the rented house, put them on the shelves and sat down to rest, I realized - this is it, what I always wanted. And to hell with them with spending, we can afford a couple of months to live as we dreamed.

A house is not an apartment
If you are renting a house, then read my post with tips - Renting a house in Phuket and my booking instructions: How to book a house in Thailand - 5 ways. And accommodation for a short period (while you are looking for a house) can be booked through the search engine of hotels and guesthouses RoomGuru, this is one of the most convenient services for finding hotels (it searches through the databases of all existing bookings at once), and we also have a personally compiled review of the best hotels in Phuket.
I can't say exactly why now, but living in an apartment and living in a house are two big differences. There are, of course, obvious things why it is better to rent a house, and not apartment, For example:
- more space, and usually more furniture
- clean air and silence, if the house is not in the city
- no neighbors behind the wall
- you can work / rest / drink tea not only in the house, but also next to it
- you can host your own internet
But this is not why we are already overwhelmed with euphoria every day, and we want to run around the house, jump and laugh silly :) Probably the main reason that you feel at home in the house, the apartment looks more like a hotel room ... It may well be that it is your own the green space around makes that impression. Outside the window I now see not the city, but green trees and flowers, all the windows and doors are wide open, and the wind brings pleasant aromas, and after taking a few steps I find myself on a terrace surrounded by palm trees.
Here a feeling came to me that at the moment I have everything I ever wanted. I, of course, have long felt that Thailand is a place where you can live very comfortably and at the same time not plow like an abnormal at work and stand in traffic jams for hours on the way to her. But it was in the house that the awareness was fully formed and now I can say - in the material sense, I don't need anything else..
A straight ode turned out for renting a house in Phuket. Okay, I will not campaign for anyone, but I will just tell you what we filmed..
If you are traveling to Thailand for the first time, then I recommend booking a house or apartment in advance. This is done only through a realtor. Yes, they do not deal with the cheapest housing and take a commission, but this allows you to avoid unnecessary hassle in an unfamiliar country. Believe me, independent searches on the spot are difficult and not worth it. You are going to rest.
Send me a request to advise a trusted realtor, whom I myself trust. And then recently there have been a lot of scammers.

Our house in Phuket
We found the house in just two days of sluggish searches (even 1.5), looking at only about 8 options. I thought it would get harder and more expensive when I read other travelers' blogs. The first 7 houses we found riding a bike, the 8th, which we rented, through an ad in an electronic newspaper. So don't neglect this option..
As a result, for 9500 baht / month we rented a house in Phuket near Rawai Beach, and we will live in it for two wonderful months. Water is free, electricity is paid (we ended up paying 370 baht per month). We have internet - free wifi 10 megabits in both directions, which is very cool for Thailand. True, his stability is just as bad as in the whole country. We also rented a bike with an automatic gearbox from the owner for 3000 baht / month, although they usually rent for 3500 baht (how to rent a scooter in Thailand).
Since we now have a stove, we are trying to cook Thai food on our own. Pad Thai, although outwardly turned out to be dissimilar, but no less tasty than the original in Thai cafes.
We were also very lucky. Not far from us lives a yoga master who came to Phuket to conduct classes. And now every morning, at 6 in the morning, we sit in all sorts of asanas to the sound of the surf or to the rustle of a pine forest..
The area around
We have 6 houses here with a common protected area surrounded by a common fence. This is exactly what we were looking for, so it is calmer. The house is practically buried in greenery, we live here as in a forest. And in addition, we got a pool. It's so great that in between work, you can swim a little. Especially in the rain, or even more correctly, in the downpour, which is already the second day, and because of which we were left without the Internet for some time.
By the way, I wrote a separate article about living creatures - dangerous insects of thailand, so that there are fewer questions. And yes, everyone usually asks about the proximity to the sea. The answer is that although we did not have such a criterion when looking for a house in Phuket, it turned out that it takes about 10 minutes by bike to get to the beach where you can swim, and 5 minutes to another, where you can’t swim..
And we also have a crematorium nearby! And the smoke of burnt bodies envelops the entire area at night (Homeric laughter off-screen) ... Scary? Just kidding, in fact, it looks very cute, like an ordinary temple, only the trumpet sticks out, and the monks sing from time to time. Wouldn't say, wouldn't even pay attention.
After this house, we ended up in another and not quite at will. Read the details here:
